of course efindoutthetruth.com is a ripoff. I gave them the name and full info. of my new penpal, I wanted to know the truth behind his case. They charged me immediately. Their response:

I easily could find it later on for FREE through FBOP. I sent them an e-mail showing the results of my own FREE search and asking for my money back and there was no response whatsover.

They did the same thing to me. In my case I spent a lot more because it was a county wide search. The person in question really did have a criminal record, but they sent me a single sentence saying "no records found" after I paid them almost $250 to do a fifty year search of county microfiche records. Then they refused to answer my e-mails when I asked for a real report. To date they haven't given me any evidence they even did the work or the name of the investigator they hired to do the search.
