If you don't read any further than these opening lines, check out the picture below. This is a hair replacement that Richard Farrell himself designed, colored and re-colored, and cut-in.

As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words:

My "Farrell experience":

Over the course of 1.5 years, and a dozen or so trips to NYC, Farrell Hair Salon never matched the color on the hair replacement to my own hair. They colored and recolored units, yet this salon, who claims they make the "Mercedes Benz" of hair replacements, never got it right.

Moreoever, the cut-ins I received at Farrell were horrendous as you can see above.

After getting fed up of multiple 2 hour trips back and forth to NYC, only to return with a horrible hair replacement, I asked for my money back.

Mr. Farrell flatly refused saying "You have demonstrated that you are an unreasonable person who looks more like he is working a scam instead of trying to be a client. We can please normal people but not psychos."

If you are considering Farrell Hair Replacement, ask yourself if you really want to do business with someone who resorts to calling clients "psychos" and accuses them of "working a scam" because they had the nerve to demand an accurate color match and a good cut-in after forking over $4000.

You also need to be aware that my experience is not an isolated one. I know of other people who have also had problems with Farrell.

Mr. Farrell will claim that he needs to "tweak" the units. In my situation, it was an endless cycle of "tweaking". And with each "tweak" the result was worse than what I started out with.

In the end, Mr. Farrell asked me to send my units to Los Angeles for another "tweaking". I never got them back. I suspect Mr. Farrell did not want any more pictures taken of his work.

I do not want them back as they are unwearable. Nothing would say "toupee" more than the hair replacements I received from Farrell.

Before you turn over your hard earned money to Farrell, ask yourself why Farrell's forums are closed to the public?

Prior to the closing of the forums, I read thru many complaints. I thought those complaining were "whiners" and dismissed what they were saying; and what a $4000 mistake that turned out to be. I would hazard a guess that the complaints from Farrell clients is precisely the reason the forums are closed to the public.

Also ask yourself why Farrell's hair replacements are so expensive when a company such as TopLace can offer hair replacements for $175 that are far superior (honestly) to Farrell's? The color matched the very first time I ordered from them. (I have no financial interest in TopLace or any company connected to the hair replacement industry.)

If I can save just one person from a "Farrell experience" like I had, I will feel that the $4000 I threw away wasn't all for naught.

I have many, many, pictures along with all of the emails I have exchanged with Mr. Farrell.

It's About Time!...

AUTHOR: Vinny - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 02, 2006

I've read many posts over the years on hair loss web forums from dissatisfied former Farrell clients.

It's about time someone posted their experience here.

As for me I was a brief client a few years ago. In short, I also paid way too much for these "ultra custom" systems. When I informed Mr. Farrell that I was not happy with what I received, again the blame was shifted back towards me, and I was invited to "share in the costs" of redesigning new systems. Similar experiences can be found on the aforementioned web forums, except one...Hairsite

Which brings me to the 2nd part of my story here.

After being duped into purchasing a Farrell system partially by the much hyped "Voted Number 1 In The World For X Years" banner at Hairsite.com, I started noticing that any negative comments about Farrell hair systems and his stunning lack of customer service were promptly deleted from the then "public" forums at that site.

Through posting some inquiries of my own (which were also promptly deleted) it became obvious what was going on there. Site owner David Tse is nothing more than a shill for Farrell Hair, helping to perpetrate the erroneous "Voted Number 1" concept to lend false credibility to the vastly overpriced hair systems. All under the guise of alleged honest and open discussion about hair loss, and hair replacement systems. Since that time the forums have become "private", and posting is subject to rules, registration, etc.

Unfortunately for Mr. Tse I still have print copies of some of the aforementioned deleted posts, so he is in no position to now deny knowledge of their existence.

Thus, here is the Farrell experience for you, deception, false credibility, transient salon staff, and customer service that puts the onus on the customer. Oh, and the most important thing... an inferior product for a ridiculously inflated price. "Let the buyer beware", indeed.
