FIFTH THRID BANK STOLE MY CAR!! They stole my Hyundai Santa Fe.

The story is like this, one afternoon the flat bed truck shows up, driver says that we owe something like $2300 in past due. WRONG!! We owed maybe one month, tops. We were told by 5/3rd that once that payment was made, we would be given a release number and the location of the vehicle.

So my girlfriend and I move heaven and earth to get the money, then we get told that it will take two to three days to do whatever BS they have to do to get it....and, oh yeah, you gotta pay the fees for the repo company holding it.

So two days go by, and we called about getting the number and location of our car. Some bed wetting mommas boy named DAVE says that we are paid up until October!! Meanwhile I called to get the repo number, and the hiccuping moron at 5/3 says we gotta get a declaration of insurance.....can you say "I'm getting jacked"??

So now, I have not gotten MY SUV back, 5/3 is racking up the charges, they STOLE $2300 from us....I have contacted the Attorney General of both Missouri and Ohio, and plan on speaking to the feds. We're also getting an attorney, and plan to sue. And oh yeah, if it comes down to it, THEY CAN KEEP THE TRUCK!!!

I've read other stories on this site and I think maybe we should all get together a file a class action suit against Fifth Third for fraud and outrageous charges.

In a nutshell, DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE JERKS!!!They lie, steal and are just th scum of the earth!

Bank Perspective

5/3 Bank does not Steal vehicles. 5/3 Bank repossesses vehicles that are the collateral for the LOAN that YOU took and signed for. The release process for a repo'd vehicle goes as follows: 2-4 business days for a release to be processed AFTER your payment. Why would the bank give you the vehicle back if you do not pay for the loan? The waiting period was not only for you, everyone who has their vehicle's repossessed must wait on a first come, first serve basis. It is paperwork and processing. Paperwork must be faxed between the national repo agency, the local repo company and 5/3.

The reason your account showed paid up until October: Your payment made of $2300 (which you GAVE to 5/3 bank to pay on your loan, they did not STEAL it) consisted of this: Total amount due (all past due payments including the current billing cycle, which is the next month's payment; Late Fees that have accrued on the account since origination, and the repossession fee which could be anywhere between $335 and $710 depending on how much 5/3 pays the repo company and how difficult it was to locate the vehicle). The repo fees are for storage for that particular company. 5/3 has nothing to do with storage fees, they are at the expense of the client who redeems the vehicle.

All of this information is clearly explained to each and every client that calls 5/3 Bank Collections Department. Listen, Understand, and Pay your bills on time.

My fiance and I have had the same situation happen to us in the past two weeks.
The only thing is we had noone ever contact us by letter or phone from Fifth Third Bank to inform us our suv was being repossed. My question is to you, Is there a class action suit I can be involved in regarding this.

Fifth Turd Car Lease

AUTHOR: Kj - (U.S.A.)

Well finally got the POS truck back!! After a week of bugging them and $290 for "storage fees" for the repo guy.
The repo guy told us that we were his 3rd repo this month for the Fifth Turd Bank (not a spelling error) and gave us some advice.. don't do business with them again. They are scumbag leaches!!
Apparently this is a habit for them and they will repo for any "late fees". Also has any one else with a 60 month lease suddenly have it turn into a 63 month lease?
