First Life rebuilding your credit Don't be fooled by First Life. Champlain New York

I received a call on my cell phone a couple of weeks ago from a company called First Life. Their representative told me they had called me because I had sought information on help to re-build my credit on the net. All they needed was my account information to complete the application process for a credit card and $299.00 which would be debited from it for a secured credit card. Like an idiot I thought it was legitimate and gave it to them.

I had doubts afterwards and found this site. What a wake-up call! I called my bank and had a stop payment issued immediately. The check hadn't cleared because I had First life to debit my account for the following week after I spoke with them. First life wanted to do it that Friday, evidentlly so I wouldn't be able to do anything about it. Only because of that were no funds taken from my account.

I called their number and told their representative(who was extremely rude)that I wanted to cancel my application and that I was going to put a stop payment on the check. He said there wasn't anything he could do because there were too many customers on their system and to call back the next day. I could not speak to a supervisor or manager. If I wanted to stop payment at my bank then go ahead and do it!

I also filed a complaint with the FCC.
