In September, 2003, I ordered a Vaughn Simply Shaker Dining Room Set (table, 6 chairs, china and sideboard) from Furniture USA. Salesperson was Linda Libertore. Told delivery would be 8-12 weeks (by Christmas).

Never received any calls or status update. Paperwork received was all wrong and had to be redone. Started to call in January 04 regarding my furniture and was told one story after another every time I called by several different people. Customer service people I spoke with were Carol Stanley, Tinley Binkley, Amy, Cathy and finally Mary.

After months of lies and changes in dates, etc. I requested a refund of my $952.00 deposit on June 24, 2004. Mary told me she was authorized to do that and I would have my refund within 10-14 business day. Never received -- called and she told me it was delayed due to many refunds but I would get it -- never did. Filed a report with the local Better Business Bureau and with the NC State Attorney General's Office.

Had a Chapel Hill lawyer write them a letter requesting payment by 8/10/04. Letter never answered and never got refund. Plan to file a claim in Small Claims court if that does not interfere with any class action suit or whatever being developed by others. I would like to be a part of that if it happens. These people deserve to be prosecuted for fraud and theft and it should be a CRIMINAL case not just a civil case.
