Global Career Management High pressure sales, no real clients, no career assistance, immigrants ESL beware Seattle Washington

Global Career Management does "offer" career management, but not the kind you need or any type that is helpful. They only cold call resumes posted on Monster, Craigslist, Career Builder, etc., because no one would ever call them. They only do some resume and cover letter editing, which is nothing compared to the fee they charge. They also mislead about their services by implying that they have corporate clients or companies ready to hire their people.

They have a hidden or sliding fee scale, where they guess how much you can afford and hand write it into a poorly photocopied contract. This is after a mind-numbing presentation that never address their actual abilities.

And when they refer to 'clients', they mean other people supposedly paying for their service. They do not have a company client list , and companies do not come to them for talent. They do nothing to help you find a job and are not a placement service. They also do not point that out or give you time to read their sales contract.

They also prey on people that do not speak English as a first language. In other countries, paying for this service is customary, but it isn't in America. In America, companies pay these providers for finding talent. Students from other countries don't realize that and are taken advantage.

They will also not give their sales pitch anywhere but their office. They will not meet you for coffee, they won't come to your house, they won't tell you over the phone or by email. Why? Because then the Federal and State Cooling Off law would apply, and the unfortunate person will not be allowed the 72 hour period to cancel the contract.

To summarize: Global Career Management is a SCAM, does not offer any real service, has no companies that look to them for personnel, and misrepresent their abilities.
