My son attempted, and believed for 30 days, he had purchased a new vehicle from Grossinger. He made a down payment, took delivery of the vehicle, and altered his insurance to reflect the new vehicle. He was assured of financing, and the pressure to take immediate delivery of the car was necessary to the dealer to satisfy their quota. It was stated at the time of purchase he would receive any available incentives, and, it was made very clear to the dealer what his range of monthly payments must fall into. The final Agreement did NOT reflect any incentives, and the estimated payments were going to be in excess of $100 per month over what was requested.

Thirty days after he took possession of the vehicle and put over a 1000 miles on the car driving to two different full time jobs, he received a call from the dealership asking him to come in and sign some additional papers. He assumed it was final loan documentation, and immediately drove to the dealership as they requested. Upon his arrival, they asked for his keys and told him they were taking back the car. He was told he had no recourse because the dealer was unable to get a loan. It took them thirty days to come to this conclusion? Currently, he is out his down payment as well as the additional money he paid for insurance for one month.

I refused to sit in another room, away from their selling public, as they repeatedly requested, when I tried to resolve my son's issues. They were belittling, they talked down to me, and the offers they made on the front-end did NOT appear in the final transaction.

Three hours after my son left his car at Grossinger, he left another, more reputable dealership with a brand new car (comparable to the one that Grossinger just repossessed) that included rebates and a matching down payment. He was given immediate credit approval well within his payment range, and the interest rate is 10% lower than what Grossinger was attempting to charge. Monthly payments are well within the range of his request.

Car shopper BEWARE. There ARE honest car dealerships around but I do not consider GROSSINGER's to be one of them!

Dealer deception

AUTHOR: Jeff - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 29, 2007

John,
Who are you trying to kid? You will know well before 30 days if you are approved or not. A simple credit score is what they look at. They were simply trying to pull the wool over someone's eyes like most dealers try to do. NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE AGREE TO TAKE SPOT DELIVERY. DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR OFF THE LOT THAT SAME DAY. WAIT FOR YOUR FINANCING TO GO THROUGH BEFORE TAKING THE VEHICLE. AFTER THE DEAL, CALL THE FINANCE COMPANY AND ASK FOR A COPY OF THE CONTRACT SENT BY THE DEALER. 90% OF ALL FINANCE CONTRACTS ARE ALTERED BY THE FINANCE MANAGER AFTER YOU SIGN THE CONTRACT. THIS IS FACT. IF YOU ARE MAKING PAYMENTS NOW, GET A COPY AND LOOK FOR YOURSELF.

auto dealer loans

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 15, 2007

i am currently a finance manager with an auto dealer in a diffrent state and i soley deal with customers with less than perfect credit.

first off when a dealer calls you back to return the vehicle it is because the dealer couldn't secure the loan. the loan was probably approved when you where at the dealer(the lender said yes) but the loan process is just the beginning!!! from there the contract goes to the loan company where they confirm all information stated on your credit application.

they verify employment, proof of residency, home phone in the house, any job gaps in employment, if the vehicle is really for you, and ect. they do a full backround check on you the customer! now if they find that you lied on the credit application or any of thoes items are missing they will bounce the contract!

this is what happens when dealers deal with people with bad credit. the customer stiffs the credit card companies or other lenders and expects the dealer to secure him an auto loan with no hassle or problem. what is this customer thinking? they dont have the ease of buying a vehicle with out a headake. he or she brought that on themselves when they made the decison to screw up their credit!!!!

so in conclusion this is probably all your fault for whatever reason and you want to take your frustration out on the dealer--one ones that are trying to help you get your credit back to normal and get you a car to drive.

trust me dealers are not in the buisness of taking cars back unless theres a reason!!!!!

Car Dealerships

AUTHOR: Michael - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 01, 2006

They suck. But not all of them. What happened is what is called Spot Delivery. Then let you think that the deal is done, then WHAM-O you get told the bring the vehicle back. Somehow magically the loan fell through. Of course, it's only after you have put a million miles on the car and now you have to pay for that too. Dealerships know within 5 seconds of they can get you financed or not. As someone mentioned, NEVER leave the dealership without the deal finalized. And you will get you down payment back. Cheers!

The deal is not done until the paperwork is done.

AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

Verbal promises mean NOTHING!

Many years ago sizeable deals were done on a handshake, but no more.

You should get the $1000 back since the deal was undone by the dealer.

I still do not understand why people accept verbal promises, and why they will not wait until ALL paperwork is completed to their complete satisfaction. So the dealer wanted to make his "quota". Big deal!
