Homeworks A mysterious charge on my credit card for 169.95 Stamford Connecticut

I noticed a mysterious charge dated 3/30/2009 on a credit card I have not used for months. The information on my statement says it is for a company called Homeworks in CT and provides no other clues. I have attempted to call the number provided but no luck so far. I have spoken to a representative of my credit card company and they want me to call them back tomorrow. They say the merchant has to have a chance to respond before I can file a dispute and I should call them back tomorrow (Monday). If I can't get through, I am to call my credit card company back and ask them to keep trying to get in touch with the company.

I have also noticed a $12.00 charge on my debit card for the past several months (since June of 2008) coming in around the 6th of every month to something called "shopper discounts." There is no contact information on my bank statements. I will be contacting my bank tomorrow. I somehow missed this smaller regular charge because my bank statement has so much on it and it was a relatively small amount each month.

I am changing my passwords to sensitive sites and will probably have to cancel my cards and get new account numbers issued. I guess I should run an anti malware scan on my computers too. What a hassle.
