They cashed my check I owed to the credit card co. on April 6th and has tried to cash the same check 4 times since then and now owe me over $112 in bank fees. I asked the bank to stop payment on this check since it's already been cashed once, but I have to pay the $28 fee to do so. I now have an overdraft due to this outfit that calls itself a "law firm", which is laughable!!!
I have the bank statements to prove it. I have reported them to one company and am furious because I'm a single mom just barely scraping by as it is. I even called the credit card company to see if my balance was now $0.00, but they said no and to call this other company. I got a recording saying that Cambece Law was handling this account. Let's see some justice!!!

How old is that debt? Did you check to see if it was past the Statute of Limitations for collections in your state?
SOL in NE is 4-6 years depending on the type of debt.
Cambece is a junk debt buyer. They purchase this type of debt for less than a penny on the dollar.
Once you make a payment you restart the SOL and the 7 year negative reporting.
Never even speak to a third party collector. As soon as you are initially contacted, send the Cease Communication letter as per your rights under the FDCPA.
