Las Vegas Athletic Club How can they keep charging you membership fees when you moved out of the area. Internet

Total rip off. I brought a 2 year membership that I pay monthly for. I moved out of Las Vegas in November 2009. My membership was purchased Feburary 2008. I called to cancel my membership since I live 55+ miles away from Las Vegas. They told me that I had 2 more months on my membership and that if canceled before it would be a 50.00 additional fee for cancellation. He suggested that I pay for the additional 2 months then cancel. So March I call they told me that my membership is for 26 months not 24 and that It expires in May I should have taken the November offer it would have saved me 60.00. Now I had to pay additional 21.00 per month for the months I didn't even live near a club. These people owe me for past membership I couldn't help it that I moved out of the city, and don't feel like I should have had to pay. Rip off totally, be careful when signed up because if you move away you are still liable. With the economy the way it is I fell like they owe me back monthly fees since I moved totaling of $ 147.00. Please beware
