M and T Bank M and T Bank charges $38.00 a week in over draft fees for unauthorized charges and a refund. Nationwide
*General Comment: Clarification needed...
My account is being charged $38.50 over draft fees a week for a charge that was a refund. Vistaprint refunded $149.00 to my checking account and Megan at M and T customer services refuses to refund the over draft fees. They are also charging me $38.50 a week on Experian Credit charge that was not authorized. I paid $1.00 for my credit score and they charged me an extra $14.95 for a credit info report without my consent.. Megan refuses to refund this as well. I am a 59 yr old disabled woman on a fixed income. I need the money for my medicine. This is not legal is it? $38.50 a week?

Unfortunately M&T does charge $38.50 per overdraft item. Sounds like Vista print charged the $149 causing an OD fee. They then refunded the charge but thebank won'trefund any of the fee. This is not a bank error so they would look at their courtesy refund policy. A lot of banks will give one refund per 12 month period. Have you had any refunds within the past year? Why do they say they won't refund this?
As for Experian- when you signed up for the $1 credit score, you signed op for their credit monitoring which was the $14.95. Since you didn't cancel wthin the alotted time (usually seven days) they charged you causing an OD fee. What puzzles me is you indicate that Experian is causing a WEEKLY OD fee. Are they really charging you each week or is this a NSF fee because their trying to take the money but it's being rejected? Call Experian and tell them that you want to cancel the credit monitoring service and do not want any more charges against your account.
