I received a letter, dated early January, around mid January in a presorted first class mail envelope that bared no postmark proving the validity of mailing date and immediately called NCOFinancial office only to be greeted by a rude woman who put me on hold for a long time. When I asked her to let me speak with someone she told me to hang up the phone if I didnt want to wait for her to get back to me. I felt as if she emotionally raped me on the phone. I fully and wholeheartedly dispute the validity of this debt.

Don't call

I agree with Al... Although its annoying to get a phone call from NCO like I used to, I never bothered returning them. And they eventually stopped calling. Now I'm getting weekly "robot" calls from a law firm affiliate of NCO (Hunt & Henriques) - I won't call 'em back - ever.
Back in the Camco days I remember talking to them & it led to nothing, zip, zero. Was kinda amusing listening to them make stuff up, but other than that, a total waste of time. And I discovered it was better to simply hang up on them.
By the way, I viewed a website the other day selling old credit card debts, think the site's debtconnection.com or something like that. Yep you too can go into the debt collection biz, appears to require no brains, nor training, just some cash.
The debts for sale were being sold for about .565 cents, yes fractions of a cent. 95% of them had electronic paperwork, which leaves lots without any documentation. By the way, this deal also includes super bowl tickets.

AL,
This is exactly why you should NEVER call, or speak to ANY third party debt collector on the phone! NEVER!!
It will never do anything positive for you. They are NOT "customer service" They have 1 goal, and that is to separate you from your money. They don't care if the debt is yours or not, or even valid. They just know they need some more crack.
Stay off the phone!
