I attended a "Passion Party" in April 2005, which was hosted by an independent consultant. I paid for the items in cash because the consultant did not accept credit cards. The items were supposed to be delived in 1 to 2 weeks. After a month and a half went by with no items, I contacted the consultant and found out that her son had "eaten" the order forms. Yeah, right. I let her know what items I had ordered so that she could place the order and she said that she'd let me know when the order came in. Another month went by and I hadn't heard anything. The consultant no longer returned my emails. I also spoke with all of the other girls who went to the party and they hadn't received their products either.
At that point, I sent the corporate office two emails asking them to assist me with this matter. Their automated response systems said I would hear from someone in 1-2 business days. I never got a response.
I then called the corporate office and after a few days of trying got to speak with someone there. The associate told me to email her an explanation of the situation and also a copy of my receipt. I emailed her both of these things that day and never heard anything.
I called the office today (about 3 weeks later) and found that the associate I had spoken with no longer works for the company. I explained my situation to the girl who had answered the phone and she said that they couldn't do anything about it because I had paid in cash. They wouldn't even try to contact the consultant!!!
So, now I'm out $60+, but I have learned two very valuable lessons: NEVER do business with Passion Parties, and NEVER pay cash! Apparently, a receipt stating that you paid cash isn't going to get you anywhere with this company.
I understand that these consultants are "independent contractors", but the company needs to realize that the consultants are the "face" of their business. If they don't try to resolve these types of issues, they look just as guilty as the consultant!

#6 Consumer Suggestion
Consider This In The Future With ALL Home Parties

I am an owner of a adult "sex toy" company. I have been on both sides of the coin as a consumer and obviously as the owner. There are a few things that I would like to bring to your attention regarding the direct sales industry/home party industry.
1) When paying for product always pay in credit card or check. Make sure that you receive a receipt that states "paid" on it for your records. This is the safest way for your own personal records.
2) When ordering from a consultant that represents the company, you are buying from an independent contractor. They are NOT a employee of the company. The independent contractor is responsible for turning the money over to the company to fullfill the order. In some cases this does not happen, when it doesn't happen, guess what? If you do not have a receipt to show that it was paid, most companies won't do anything for you because they don't have proof that the product was actually paid for. Even if you do have a receipt, it isn't up to the company, the company didn't take your money, the independent consultant did.
Yes, you can file a fraud report with your local police department. My company will fullfill orders only if a police report is filed.
I hope this helps you. I completely understand your frustration. Don't blame the company, blame the independent consultant/contractor.
FOR THOSE THAT ARE ON THE "PASSION PARTIES" HATING GAME:
You knew what you were getting into before signing your agreement. I am sorry that it didn't prove the results that you thought was going to happen. However, this business is exactly it, business. There is no one to blame but yourself, YOU GET WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT! :)

HAVE YOU NO SHAME, you should be embarresd
to be a part of this company with the way
you are acting.
We already know this is not a very good company to do business with, but you do not have to be as low as a roach to put your stupid passion party sex toy advertisement on this report.
Some passion party consultants are immoral, and have no honor on where they place their ads.

#4 UPDATE EX-employee responds
Passion Parties is NO GOOD

Hi - I am an ex-employee, or rather ex "Independent Consultant" of Passion Parties. I did it for over a year in addition to holding down a full time job. If you happen to already be wealthy and don't mind spending hundreds of dollars in your OWN money, maybe this might be rewarding for you -- but for those of us who took it on hoping to make some extra money and have some fun, BEWARE.
Yes, the overall philosophy is fun and doing the parties and meeting lots of great ladies (and men!) WAS fun. But, they matched me up with a sponsor who was over 1,000 miles away from me, and though she'd been w/the company a long time, was dumb as a stump and did NOTHING to help me. It would have been nice to have someone at least in the same state as me. I called the Corporate office to inquire about getting a new sponsor in my home state and was told there was absolutely NOTHING that they could do -- that you HAD to go with the sponsor you were given and that's IT...meanwhile this simpleton is making money off of my parties and not being a "sponsor" at all!!!
They tell you you will make 40% profit on every item you sell (that's ONLY if you spend the money to buy the BIGGEST "starter kit" they offer -- if you buy the smaller one, you only make 25%, but can be bumped up to 40% if you sell $1000 in ONE calendar month, no exceptions -- which I wprkled my butt off and DID) -- well let me tell you that 40% does NOT end up being 40%...you have to buy all your order forms, catalogs, supplies, labels, bags, shipping materials, shipping of product, business cards, you even have to PAY to get a website ($20 a MONTH!) and to be able to take CREDIT CARDS -- YOU have to PAY! Most home parties, (Tupperware and PartyLite, for sure) do NOT make their consultants pay for a website and to be able to take credit cards.
By the time you spend all that, you won't even break even. It IS fun, but I went broke in the process because they are such money hungry zealots. I checked into a couple of their competitors who offer MUCH better deals (no start up cost, 50% profit from the get-go, etc....).
I also did research on the net and this is a multi-BILLION dollar industry whose products generate an average of 70-85% PROFIT!!! All of which they pocket. BEWARE!

I was disturbed to read this report I am a consultant for this company and it bothers me that they wouldn't do anything for you - Every consultant has an upline - sponsors who have brought us in to the company - I have emailed my sponsor to find out if there is anything we can do to assist you. I need the name of your consultant that did the party to try and find out who her upline is, they should assist you eithher getting your product or your money back. Hopefully you still have your receipt and the other girls do too.
This happened to me before I became a consultant different company, The party ended up having to take the consultant to small claims court for stealing everyones money - I got my cash back right away, lets just say she didn't realize I prefer to deal with my own problems then bother with court.
I know how extremely frustrating and angry you must be, so I'd like to assist you, if you want my email address to give me the info I need just reply back.
