After a nasty court case I began receiving unusual phone calls from the same number and wanted to track down the owner of that number. I stumbled upon the phone detective website where I was told that for a small fee I could identify the owner of that number-- that they did indeed have a name and an address to go with it...or.... for the one time fee of $39.95 I could have a year of unlimited searches.

As a CASA volunteer I knew that having access to a reverse phone lookup service could come in handy so I opted for the year long subscription. I paid my fee and performed my search for the number as a new subscriber. Lo and behold they did not have the information I had desired-- even though just a few web pages ago it was the promise of this available information that encouraged me to pay for the subscription.

I then began to perform searches on 20 other numbers-- all numbers I knew were listed in the phone book and readily available at other phone directory websites. I even tried to look up my own number, which is not unlisted, and I was told, yet again, that the information was not available. Frustrated and feeling swindled I turned off the computer for the night.

A few days later I tried a few more searches. This time I was told that if I wanted to use the 40 credits I had I could receive the information I desired but I would at that time be out of credits. Of course I could purchase more for future searches. What happened to the year of unlimited searches?

Oh... I guess I can search... I just can't get results. Wish that had been explained up front. I only hopes that this report prevents someone else from falling for the PhoneDetective.com scam and saves them from wasting their hard earned money.
