Plain Green Loans Deceptive loan practices and outrageous intrest rates. Box Elder Montana

Here is the situation. Foolishly I let a fiancé take care of the finances for almost 14 months. Almost 3 weeks ago we broke up. Then the emails and phone calls started. I found out that she had created credit card accounts in the major department stores and even Visa and MasterCard accounts in my name.

I am not willing to get the law after her, but I really feel like an idiot. I have made deals with the bank and all the credit cards to close the accounts and either stop the late fees and lower the interest or just pay off the amount as quickly as possible. Plain Green refuses to work with me in this situation. Since I never read or signed off on their loans, I don't feel that I am bound to their stipulations.

Today I finally got somebody on the phone they could tell me the terms and conditions and how many payments have already been made towards this loan. This was an $1800 loan at 180% interest. The finance charges are $3747.57, bringing it to a total of $5547.57. This is totally outrageous. I told them that I wanted to pay them the $1800 that was owed to them, but they want the entire $5000 amount.

Since I stopped all kind of payments to them they're charging me almost $9.00 a day and interest. I have contacted the state’s attorney general's office and they are not licensed to do business in the state of Oklahoma and their interest rate was higher than the legal usury rate in the state. I will continue to try to get some kind of conclusion to the situation with them but I am not going to hold out hope that it will end on a good note. I hope this situation will alert others so that they don't fall into the same trap as I have.
