Booked a car rental deal through Priceline.com, and Budget Rent A Car. 144.15 (22.00) per day. Good deal right? Not!

I get to Budget Rental late after my flight at 10:30pm, long day of traveling, and I find out that the rental car company wants to charge my CC for additional security deposit of 200.00, refundable at the end of returning the car.  Ok, I did not know this, I didnt prepare for that.  I dont usually rent cars, and I didnt have a CC to charge, I pay cash for everything or use a bank card.  So, the day before I had deposited a check into my bank account which had not posted yet, so I didnt have enough at pick up time to take on additional charges of 200.00.  So, I had to cancel the arrangement.  The Budget Rent A Car in Detroit, says that Priceline.com will refund my charges, after it shows from Budget that I didnt pick up the car.  I'm like ok.  I rent a cab for a 45 mile trip to destination.

I contact Priceline.com, and they just say I have to wait 6 days after the ending transaction date, to dispute.  So, I do.. now they say, there are no refunds, changes, or cancellations allowed on name your own price transactions, even if you dont use it.

I disputed the charges with my bank, which they reversed temporarily, but ended up recharging me for that amount, because the said they couldnt override their(Priceline.com) policy.

I'm out of 144.15, for services that I didnt recieve.  Despite cancellation, they take your money.

Legalized stealing..lf you give them your CC, you also gave them permission to charge you!

No way to securely purchase with Priceline.com.. they are a huge rip off.

Nice policy to have, they make a killing off of lots of folks who have things come up, and cant do anything about it to change, or cancel.

Never ever will I use Priceline.com!

No Ripoff Here

No ripoff here. Car rental companies ALWAYS require a deposit. It is not Priceline's fault that you didn't research this if you never rented a car before. It was not their fault that you couldn't cover the deposit. They owe you nothing....

Just someone who didn't bother reading what they purchased. It clearly states when you use priceline's name your price feature that the prices are non-refundable. It doesn't matter if you use it or not, they are NON-REFUNDABLE

Its not priceline's fault you didn't have the deposit for the rental company. Priceline sold you the rental rate and got you the deal, anything else is on budget.
