I worked an outdoor promotional event for an electronics store in November of 2007. After multiple emails and phone calls, the only thing I ever got was...It is on it's way, sorry for the delay, we have over 10,000 1099;s to get out and we are a little backed up... folks, this is big, really big. This is a company that is truly taking advatage of the system and you. If everyone continues to just sit around and let it go... almost like I did, it will only continue to happen to others and it just isn't right. Here is the history I have had with them via email... AND STILLLLLL NO PAYMENT. I don't care if they owe me a dollar. If I worked for it, they should pay me for it.

_____
Look at the emails I have with excuse after excuse and then they simply started ignorning me.

Job completed on November 15th, 2007!!

Hi Randi

The contract states you will be paid within 60 days. I know payroll is a little backed up right now but you can expect your check in the mail sometime soon. Thanks!

That is why I was inquiring. The 15th of January was 60 days. Is there any way to check to make sure that is within the system? Thanks.

Hi,

First of all I want to say thank you for your patience. I just wanted to let you know where everything stands. This month has been very hectic due to the holiday break, catching up from before then, and having to get out over 10,000 1099s by January 31st. I want you to know that we have not forgotten about the event you worked for us and we understand that payment is past due. Please be as patient with us as you possibly can as we are working our hardest to get everything caught up and get tax forms out on time. You will receive an email when your check goes out. Make sure to add my email address to your Anti-Spam filter to ensure you get this (Spam filters like the word promo in our email and block us all the time ).

Again, I do not have an exact date as to when you can expect your check but know that we are working our hardest and thank you SO much for your patience. All inquires about checks can be made to me, not your account executive as I see when checks go out. Thanks again and late Happy New Years! We appreciate you and your hard work!

Lauren,

I appreciate the update; however, this is not the first year for the holidays nor is the first time that we have all had to get our taxes together for the end of the year.

I know you are working hard but that doesnt change the fact that as a company you should have been prepared for this. I am going to make sure that everyone out there knows how unprofessional this has been handled. Dont you think that most everyone that is in this business and going through you doesnt just have extra money and time to be just sitting out here waiting on our payment that your contract states will be paid within 60 days.

I certainly dont seem to sound hateful, but this is unacceptable as a business practice and I think your company needs to be reported to the better business bureau. This is certainly not a way to keep your models working for you, I can tell you I will not.

We would have had time to prepare if I hadnt had been in the hospital for 2 months previous after my family had a horrendous accident. I am sorry, but we tried to be nice by keeping you up to date. This is the first year it has affected us like this. I hope you understand.

I think that was the problem there was no keeping us up to date. Only after I had emailed a couple of times had I even heard back from your company. I am sorry for your accident and hope all has recovered, but that still doesnt remove the fact that this was supposed to be a professional company and people depending on your company. Someone else should have been able to cover your position. I cant imagine you working for a company and you would be willing to accept that when they got their things together is when you would get paid.

There is nothing that can be done now, I just think as a business, your practices should be addressed. I look forward to hearing from you SOON that my check is on the way.

And as of July the 16th, 2008... NO MONEY, NO PAYMENT.

And here we are now with MANY MANY other models coming out to tell the truth about this company. I will not continue to happen. Do not let them fraud you out of your hard earned money.

Unfortunately Haunting Ex-Employees

AUTHOR: Lauren Hargrove - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 10, 2008

I am a former employee and unfortunately these reports have followed me from this past job.
Please do not hold this against ex-employees as we are not part of the corporation that is involved in this. Now I am getting calls at my new place of employment.
Those of us that have left do not have anything to do with this company so please don't stalk us.
We left for a reason, please don't haunt us.
Thank you!
Lauren
