My mother is 76  year old retired nurse who moved to Miami in the summer of 1998 to enjoy her retirement. In purchasing her home signed a 36 month contract with Protection 1, and has been an outstanding customer with them for the last 15 years.  Last year my mom called and complained that service was no-longer working and she requested  the service be cancelled.  They told her she can suspend her account and she would not have to worry about any bills so she can have some time to think about it. For several months now she has called again and again to cancel and they keep telling her that she need to put it in writing. She has put it in writing and they have been consistently stalling her.

Today she received a call from protection, demanding payment
and stating that since she signed a contract back in 1998, she was committed to
a 1 year contract for each year  after the 36 month contract and is liable until the end of the year.

My mom has been with this company for over 15 years and she has never been late
with her payments, and this is what they do to their senior citizens customers?
