Read the previous posts and know that you are not alone and that you were lucky it wasn't their usual $500 or more scam. Post results if anything good comes from contacting Kelly. She usually is all about finding fault in the customer and ON OCCASION will activate a refund. It is like a telemarketer scum bag I once knew that would rob poor folk out of their money and offer a prize that once a year she would give to someone. This justified the scam to the authorities.

Hi, I'm Kelly from Quicken Loans. While I'm not familiar with your particular loan, and it is unfortunate that your appraisal came in low, we do not perform the appraisals ourselves. By law, we have to hire 3rd party appraisers to give unbiased home value estimates. Also, if your low appraisal was the reason we couldn't do the loan, we would have refunded any money not spent on your behalf, per the deposit agreement you signed on your application. We keep nothing in the case of a denied loan - it is NOT a scam. If this didn't happen or you are unsure of the costs associated with your loan, please get in touch and I'd be happy to help: kelly@quickenloans.com
