After seeing an advertisement on TV for $3.00 entrees with purchase of a garden bar I decided to drive to my local Ruby Tuesdays as I have always had great service and tasty meals there.
I ordered the Garden Bar (all you can eat salad bar) and one of the five entrees listed in the special offer. The server was great and the meal was, as usual, very tasty.
My issue was with the bill, normally The Garden Bar is priced at $3.99 it was even listed on one of their multiple menus, but on my receipt it was $9.99. After talking to my server she explained that when taking advantage of the $3.00 special entree the price of the Garden Bar is increased to $9.99.
This wipes out most if not all of the savings for this special and is in my opinion a terrible way to run a business. After viewing the TV commercial a number of times I am unable to see that they explain this ?

You did "assume" wrong. Poster Who Me is correct.
You might want to research specials and make sure you have a full understanding before going to the restaurant and then complaining online.

And I 100% still contend this is deceptive advertising.I have been going to Ruby Tuesdays for more than 16 years . Always had excellent service and first quality food. Never in all that time have I been charged $8.99 or even $9.99 for the Garden Bar. Some times its $1.99 with my entree and one side, sometimes I get two sides and I am charged $3.99. All or the multiple menus I read on this last visit (for lunch) show the charge for the garden bar at $3.99 not one mention of a $9.99 charge and the server made no mention when taking my order. The Hickory Bourbon Chicken is normally $13.59 with two sides. With this special it only comes with one side, So if you take that one missing side off the normal cost you get $10.70 add on the normal lunch time cost of the Garden Bar of $3.99 gives you a total of $14.69 . The special price of $3.00 entree plus the $9.99 dinner price for the garden bar gives you a special offer total of $12.99 thats a savings of just $1.70. Hardly worth the drive !
But hey if that's the way they want to do business it's 100% their right, i will just stop being a patron

The endless garden bar is regularly priced at $8.99 for lunch and $9.99 for dinner. IF you order a regularly priced entree, it's $3.99.
The "special" is you get a $3.00 entree with the purchase of a regularly priced garden bar.
You assumed. You were wrong.
