SAFE RIDE SAFE RIDE bullies on phone when requested to cancel Smyrna Georgia

I was contacted by SAFE RIDE, an outfit that claimed to be related to Concord Honda, where I bought my 2006 Honda Odyssey. They said my warranty was almost up and they were offering complete coverage for parts, service, loaners, etc. to 100,000 miles. They did ask for the car's identification number.

I don't know why I fell for this. I am an intelligent woman. But evidently not savvy. I paid for this with a card over the phone. When the "warranty" and a bottle of Dura Lube arrived in the mail, it was at least a couple of weeks later than they had promised. The warranty was short, and cheap.

When I read the information, I saw that what was promised over the phone was not what was presented in the warranty. The warranty said that it only covered DEFECTIVE parts, which of course would be covered by HONDA anyway. I called to cancel the warranty.

I was greeted by a man who identified himself as Germaine Smith. I told him I wanted to cancel the policy. What ensued was fifteen minutes of bullying by him, cross examination, warnings that I was making a big mistake, insistance that I was not telling him the whole story. I kept repeating that I wanted to cancel the policy. He continued to berrate me until I told him that I knew what I wanted in a loud voice. Then he played victim to my bullying. He told me to send back the warranty and the bottle of Lube.

Then I looked the company up on the internet, intending to report the employee's behaviour. I found that they had no web address, and no e-mail address. They had been reported four times, so far, by irate customers to this Ripoff Report site.

Watch out. I intend to get a lawyer. This was not cheap.
