I needed help with my priscriptions because I lost my job and lost my health insurance. I have medications that I have to have, but I can not afford them. I saw Select Care Benefits Network on the internet and filled out a form. Immediately afterwards I was contacted by a guy nambed Todd who left his number for me to call.
I waited until this paste Friday the 8th to call. I was greeted by a guy named Angel who seemed really interested in getting all the information about me that he could. He would referr me to one of his patients and said that he was an advocate for those of us who could not afford their medication. When he asked for my social security number a red flag went up. I immediately asked him if this was a scam and that I did not like giving that information out, but he assurred me that it was legitimet and that this company was bond under the Hippa act to protect all of their clients information, just like your doctor would. I reluntanly agreed.

Later I had to give him my checking account routing numbers, he explained that they would be taking a one time fee of 50 dollars and an additional 55 dollors out for the first months worth of meds. From there on every month 55 dollars would come out of my checking. At the very last is where he says that I am bound by a contract and the only way that I can drop it is by getting insurance that I can prove is cheaper than theirs. He also stated that I had 30 days to decline to becomming a member. I  was also told that once I got my packet, it would be six additional weeks before I would recieve my medicine.

I started thinking about it later that evening and realized, if they were legetiment, why did they not offer to send the information through the mail like most credible comjpanies do first. Angel was more interested in getting my money than anything else. He gave me a customer service number to call along with a customer id number.
Later, I had decided to tell them that I did not want to be a member and to drop me from their client list immediately. When I tried to call the number that he gave me (1-866-722-6479) a recording said that it was a number no longer in use. I would say, stay away from these people. This is identity theft and the BBB has negitive complaints about them as well. They are lying when they say that they are under the Hippa Law to protect your privacy. They are taking advantage of older individuals like myself who has little money to spare. I needed help to get my medications, not to be taken advantage of by a bunch of heartless, no conscious  scammers who prey on the elderly and those who are desperately in need of help with their medication. They need to be put in prision and all of those who knowing  participate in taking and solicting personal information for this companies gain.

This company needs to be put out of business! I am now in the process of changing my checking account information and I have contacted my local law enforcement agency to turn my Social Security number in for monitoring. Be aware of this company! They are not here to help you, but to steal you blind!

Be careful

I had a very similar experience to yours about a year ago. In September 2010 I called and got info from SCBN, decided to join the program and gave my credit card number to someone over the phone. The next day I also changed my mind about the program realizing that it seemed like a scam. I refused the packet they sent me in the mail and I thought I was done with it.

It is now November 2011. Looking over my credit card statement I realized that I had a charge for $60 from a company called Speedypap. I called the number listed on the bill and it was not in service so I called my credit card company to see what the charge was for. They told me that Speedypap had been billing me $60 a month for over a year and that it was a medical plan company. After doing some research online I found that Speedypap is the same company as SCBN. They have been stealing $60 a month from me for over a year! I was so upset when I realized this that I started to cry. With interest I am out around $1400.

I had to cancel my credit card and get a new number to prevent further charges, and I suggest you do the same. This company is ruthless so please check the account you gave them carefully every month! I don't want them to be able to scam someone else!
