Well, I guess this company has gone downhill. I have ordered from The Lakeside Collection in the past and had no problems with the items being in stock and getting them quickly. I checked ripoffreport.com and read some of the complaints about this company about them not fulfilling orders. I gave them the benefit of the doubt since I've ordered from them in the past and ordered two items from them even after reading the complaints. I went on their website and went through the process of entering my order. I got my email saying thank you for ordering from The Lakeside Collection and my order number.
Within a few days I went back to their website to check the status of my order and lo' and behold my items were backordered! Well, it wasn't an emergency so I figured I can just wait as long as I'm getting them. Several months passed and I kept getting notices in the mail about it taking longer and if I still wanted the items to do nothing and just wait. So, I still wanted them so wait I did. I kept thinking that the towel holder a lakeside exclusive was going to look great in my bathroom - I couldn't wait to receive it.
Well today, June 11, 2009, I received an email from LSCNo-Reply1@LTDCommodities.com saying Dear Lori Vattes, Due to the popularity of the item(s) listed below (my towel holder that I couldn't wait to get), we have exhausted our supply and regret that we must cancel your order. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused????? This email is supposed to make it alright? I don't get this due to the popularity of the item(s) listed below, we have exhausted our supply and regret we must cancel your order????? How could they have exhausted their supply? They didn't have a supply to begin with didn't they reserve one for me when it was on backorder and they actually took the time to send all those if I still wanted the item to do nothing notices in the mail? Also, I guess they don't charge your credit card until the item(s) are in stock to be shipped.
In between waiting for this order, I had a problem with another merchant online (ordered acai berry (the one with Rachel Rae pictured so I figured it was safe to order) (People, don't order from this company, either you are signing up for a membership) and was supposed to just pay shipping of $4.95 and was unaware I was signing up for a membership with this company) and they were charging my card with all different amounts so I had to go to my bank and cancel the card and receive a new one. Even if The Lakeside Collection company didn't have a valid credit card because of me canceling the card I used, they could have held my item and wrote to me and asked me if I still wanted it and, if I did, that they needed a different payment method from me. I might think more than twice about ordering from this company again and even not recommending them to anyone.
