Had this guy as a landlord for one year. Left his property in MUCH cleaner condition than it was when I moved in. He didn't pay me my $900 deposit back. After attending a presentation at the Texas Tenant's Union, I eventually sued him in JP court before the statute of limitations ran out, and got a response from him that he'd filed bankruptcy. This was going to make collection much more difficult, so I wound up walking away. It upsets me that this man is still out there scamming people. If he's done this to you, please add your report here. And check the city court records for lawsuits against any potential private landlord you consider renting with.
