I went to see Dr. Nelson Soohoo, the supposed chief of ankle and foot surgery, at UCLA. I took my imaging studies with me, which included X-rays, CTs, and MRIs. He only spent five minutes with me, decided I needed physical therapy, and charged me $500 for the visit. When I asked him to please review my images more carefully, as I had already tried physical therapy but had gotten worse, he seemed annoyed. Why should the chief of ankle and foot surgery who doesn't know anything spend more time with the patient? Then he can't make $500 every five minutes from his other patients.

I filed a complaint with his grievances department. Then to his malpractice insurance company. All they did was apologize for my experience. They didn't reimburse my money. Ladies and gentlemen, this is how the chief of ankle and foot surgery treats his patients! He takes $500 from you and sends you to physical therapy, so that your fracture will get worse and worse. Did you really think you deserved to take my $500 only to send me back to physical therapy? Did I look that naive? Of course, doctors are treated like gods, so no matter how ridiculously and poorly they treat you, they think they can get away. Guess not! Now everyone will know!

Pictures of my fractures. Dr. Nelson SooHoo was rushing. He didn't see my fractures. He didn't even pay me back for my visit and subsequent costs. It's a shame.

I had the same exact experience as the post

I became a patient of Dr. Soohoo's on December 17, 2015. On December 17, 2015, I went to his office for a scheduled appointment at 9:15 AM. I visited him for bilateral ankle and feet pain after a basketball injury. I took several CDs with me, which included X-rays, MRIs, and CTs. During my appointment, he reviewed all of my previous imaging studies very quickly and claimed that he couldn’t see anything wrong. When I pointed out the cracks in my heel bones, he acknowledged the cracks but claimed, “They had already healed.” He also very briefly examined my ankles. His diagnosis was a ligamentous injury, despite not finding anything wrong with my ligaments on the actual imaging studies. His treatment plan was six weeks of physical therapy. I followed his advice. Per his treatment plan, I started physical therapy the following week. However, I couldn’t continue with physical therapy for too long, because the pain got worse and worse. Even my physical therapist stated that it couldn’t have been a soft tissue injury, because physical therapy would have made me feel better and not significantly worse.

Shortly after my unsuccessful physical therapy sessions, I visited another orthopedic surgeon for a second opinion. After carefully reviewing all of my CDs and examining my ankles and feet, the orthopedic surgeon diagnosed me with active fractures in each of my ankles. I visited yet a third orthopedic surgeon, who again after reviewing my CDs and examining my ankles, confirmed that I definitely had active fractures in each of my ankles. Dr. SooHoo only spent 8 minutes with me and dismissed any possibility of my fractures still being active. He didn’t take my symptoms seriously and didn’t investigate further. He sent me to physical therapy, when my bones were still fractured. He missed not just one active fracture, but two active fractures. As my orthopedic surgeon, it was incumbent upon him to recognize “orthopedic related” symptoms and treat me accordingly. He failed to do so. Due to his failure, I experienced and continue to experience until today extreme pain and discomfort, and ongoing medical complications. None of this would have happened if he had taken my symptoms more seriously, and if he had properly treated me on December 17, 2015. I paid $500 as a cash patient, which is a lot of money, but he spent very little time with me. He seemed to be rushing, which is ridiculous for the high amount of money I paid for my visit. His misdiagnosis and mistreatment cost me an additional $4,000 for further doctor visits, imaging studies, medical supplies, and treatments over the next several months. I went to Dr. SooHoo because of Dr. Kodi Azari, another ripoff and scam.

Don't be fooled by Dr. SooHoo's credentials as the Chief of Foot and Ankle Surgery at UCLA. He is nothing but a fake, incompetent, moron. Instead of helping me, he took $500 from me, misdiagnosed and mistreated me, and incurred an additional $4,000. Don't be fooled by this scam artist. He has his credentials because of his connections with UCLA. Otherwise, he is nothing but a fool. Please see pictures of my ankles and tell me what you think?? This bozo couldn't see the fractures. I'm sure you can!
