Universal Fidelity,LP Bogus late charges for video rentals Houston, Texas
*Consumer Comment: Recent Universal Fidelity Mail Recipients
I received a letter stating that I owed $29.57 for late charges to Hollywood Video. I know that when our local Hollywood closed I personally checked with them to see that our account was in good standing. We were told at that time that it was and they appreciated our years of doing business with them. Why would we be getting charges from 2 to 2 1/2 years ago when we were told we had no charges. I have no intention of falling for this scam or paying them a dime.

This company is collecting dedt that was at some point in time owed to Hollywood Video which we all probably know by now filed for bankrupcy.
Supposedly the bankruptcy judge did not want any of the dept to be solicited for collection until after the court's decision, so that is why the delay (in my case 3 years).
At this point in time they are NOT reporting any of the debt to any of the credit reporting agencies.
As much as I wish to tell them to KMA, I'll pay my 12.34 to risk damaging my credit.
Hopes this helps
