universal fidelity, lp on behalf of Hollywood Video/Movie Gallery Inc. Universal Fidelity is claiming that we owe $26.03 from an account held with Hollywood Video. Hollywood Video is no longer in business. Houston, Texas

We recieved a notice from Universal Fidelity, LP informing us that we owe $26.03 for late fees to Hollywood Video.  Most of the Hollywood Video places are no longer in business.  I am suspicious that this is a scam and would appreciate any help to resolve this matter as I do not want to do anything that will have a negative impact on my credit score.

After reading numerous other postings on this site about similar complaints, I am more suspicious.  I am going to respond in writing as instructed on the back of the notice and ask that they provide more detailed information regarding this alleged deinquency.  If anyone else can provide any additional advice it would be helpful.  My other option is to contact a local news station and ask them to help me look into this matter.  Thanks to anyone who can help with this.
