Wamu, Washington Mutual raise interest rate Dallas Texas

I havehad an account with wamu for years. I have paid on time. I have paid either the minimum or the majority of the time, more than the amount due.

As the years went by, WAMU kept raising my limit. Now, after getting me to transfer balances of higher interest cards to them, they are raising my interest rate.

They offer me one option. I can close the account.

When I contacted them to find out why they would raise my interest on an account in good standing, their response was that "sometimes they do that"

My credit scores have increased constantly over the years. I pay my bills.

I am not allowing them to screw me over.

I closed my account. I do not have any problems taking my money elsewhere.

It just irritates me that this company would do this to a 'good' customer.
I wonder what happens to others....
