After being "pre-approved" for a 80,000 mortgage, my son was then passed on to another broker, From David Byers to Brian Dewitt. Contracts were lost, statements missplaced and finally another closing date was presented, three days prior to the close, Brian sent truth-in-lending papers that were VERY different than what was originally quoted. Most of the forms had TBD written where actual amounts were suppose to be. In other words they were waiting until closing day to determine exact interest, processing time, origination fees, cap amounts, etc. CRAZY!
Long story short.....they attempted to "slam" my son with 8% rates and prepayment penalities in order to close on a loan that truly should have closed months ago with 6% interest.
I believe these tactics were used to create a "desperate" situation whereby my son would agree to just get it done and they'd have made ooodles on interest and 4,000 in closing fees!! I've closed enough loans to know that recourse is limited and BEN didn't follow through with this loan, thank GOD.
Just know....do NOT do business with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in Topeka, Overland Park or Emporia KS. I'd not do any business with them in any capacity.

I appreciate your response to my complaint about Wells Fargo Mortgage and in normal situations a mature, reasonable action is certainly desireable. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE SITUATIONS. We were reasonable throughout.
I have carefully analyzed what happened and my son was "slammed".
Those of you in the business can surely attest to the step by step means taken to accomplish this...........and the company knew what happened. The seller threatened to sew, the buyer had been offered two other loans but Wells Fargo was the best rate (initially) and hiked up at the last minute. He DID do the reasonable thing; he told them NO. They didn't expect it but we wasted months doing business with them. They have every ounce of personal information on my son to turn around and sell for identity theft. I believe they make money whether they make the loan or not. Truly I believe this.
Of course, we were reasonalbe ........ he did go elsewhere but again they are crooks and it was set up from the beginning.
Thanks for the "rebuttal" to my initial complaint.

My only suggestion is to contact the supervisor of the person that you were dealing with. I completely realize that this would be taking more time out of yours or your son's day talking to a company in which you clearly don't like.
What I see too much of is people who have bad experiences and people who just walk away from the situation. What happens is that the manager/supervisor assumes no news is good news and that if you walked away and didn't say anything, it just must have been a better deal somewhere else.
Advising the supervisor of the employee is your only recourse to help clean up sloppy mistakes. If you do report someone it will better help the company police their staff to make sure that the company as a whole is providing the best possible service.
After all what good would it do if everyone hated their service? They wouldn't be in business. If you don't report it you'll only continue the cycle of bad service.
Thanks for your time! Hope this helps in some small way.
