Here is the short version, we are very tired!
This Company needs anger managment control and a new staff of Service. Customer Service has gone out the door in America!
We have a 63 Chevrolet Corvette Split Window. DAS (dependable Auto Shippers) were called for a quote, very Bad mistake on our part! We asked for a price a date of departure from North Carolina to California. We got the total and a 3-day departure date!
Our lives turned to Hell from that day on! 11/14/03 to today 11/25/03 our story has still not come to an end! Since I have spoken to my Attorney I have been writing everyone with Rage!
I am upset because this unlawful Company has taken matters into there own Hands, time to stop! We wanted a contract, order number and a garage. We were quoted for it! Our seller of the car left this vehicle at a terminal in North Carolina for us to be picked up by DAS as they and we requested.
With this in mind we waited that same day to get an order number and contract. Nothing came! Days and disputes went by for a contract, order number and date of departure! An apology came day's after, we were amazed with disbelief! We thought after all this and a week had gone by let's let it go, move on and get a Company we are familiar with!!!
Oh, then "Hell Broke Loose". Supervisors called, screaming, demands for money, lies about a contract signed non the less! Supervisors threatening a hold on our vehicle and then Hanging up on us.
I want this Company to hear what has gone on via complaints! This is not Customer Service, so it's time to pay. Our new Company hired, got turned away by DAS and would not release this car! We have called the police twice, the BBB, DOT and our lawyer. Talk about a Dry Run, 1st Choice Auto Shippers is the new Company and they are Awesome! They are supporting us and they had to eat the Bill for DAS turning them away on our vehicle!!! They are now trying to get our vehicle on Friday of this week.
We received a phone call this morning re: the car is not leaving until payment is received. We mentioned Attorney,1-hour later the phone rang & the Tow Yard stated that the car is released. We will see, they still will not Fax a copy of our supposed release form to get the car. We thank you for listening and we hope this helps anyone and everyone!

Dependable Auto Shippers, their higher managment misleading you to cover up! Afraid you're loosing business? Train your employees better, sir!

These allegations by DAS management by not being able to contact me are false; even now they are trying hard to cover up instead of fixing the problem! I called their office in Texas and left three messages for Erin Almand, together with my phone number and their tracking number, 791086. I never got a call back. The eBay buyer, the person who paid for this shipping, also called them and they refused to talk with him! I called their office in Carson California, and had the same result: complete silence. Now, DAS President of sales and marketing claims he could not reach me to re-earn your trust. All lies, my phone is a business phone, on at all time! The result: We took the business to their competitor, and the car is now in PA. No phone calls, no rip-off reports, no lies and cover-ups! Only the service, how it should have been!
There are many fine shippers out there. Shipping your investment across country can be a nice experience if you are avoiding Dependable Auto Shippers. See this report, and others just like this on this web site.

I purchased a car on e-bay and had Dependable pick it up in Texas and deliver to Illinois. Very good transaction with excellent communication.

We regret every instance where there is a misunderstanding with a customer. I would like to get in contact with you and discuss your bad experience with DAS and see if there is anything we can do to earn back your business.
I am unable to locate your contact information and order number with the information you left in this feedback. Please contact us and ask for the Vice President of Sales and Marketing. I would like to find out what happened with your move and see what we can do about making sure this same sort of incident does not happen again. Thank you.

Confirmation of Ripoff by Dependable Auto Shippers

Do consider other shippers before you are calling DAS for service.
This is my own experience with DAS! I had the same bad experience with this company. I am a car dealer selling cars on line thru eBay Motors. I have a link on my web page taking my customers to Depandable Auto Shippers (DAS) to arrange for transport.
One customer did arrange for a shipping to PA from Los Angeles and prepaid for with his credit card $765.00. I had my employee taking the vehicle in to DAS terminal in Carson to help DAS, free of charge, when I got there and the DAS worker "Brian" did finish cheking the car in (45 minutes wait) he ask me to pay $ 685.00 for transport. I said it was prepaid and was confirmed by their on site receptionist "Zumia (?)" by credit card. He said he will not ship the car if I do not pay what HE asked me to pay, or I should take the car out of there, all that after I waited one full hour. I had to take the car and leave.
Do consider other shippers before you are calling DAS for service.
This is my own experience with DAS!

if this had been taken care of professionaly then we would not have been persistant with the complaints

We are sorry to here about the rebuttal received from DAS. Honestly, if this had been taken care of professionaly then we would not have been persistant with the complaints. Oddly enough so, we delt with the Carson California district and a Mr. Jay Gonzales not Texas. Texas only came into play because the Carson district followed up with no contracts, dates and an abrupt phone hang up from a Vickie Swift (supervisor). This is when Texas came into the picture and we then delt with Ida Levar (supervisor) and she found to be very unwilling to beleive our story. We will not let this go if rebuttal after rebuttal is put in. We believe in Customer Service! The Vice President of this Company should have apologised or had a Supervisor apologise. We left a message with Erin Almand Director of Customer Service, a phone call was not returned, we thought we just were not that important enough. Our cost thru another Shipping Company came to $900.00 due to DAS turning them away from our vehicle! They ate the Bill and they are witnesses to this incident, they were shocked! A total of $900.00 is much greater than $100.00, what's wrong this picture? We still do not have any contracts, faxed release forms with our signature. It's still very baffling! Thanks for listening and only you can decide.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company
misrepresented the facts concerning our dealings
AUTHOR: Wade - (U.S.A.)

Alecia & fiona has misrepresented the facts concerning our dealings with her. She booked this move and made no mention of wanting her car to be in a covered area. She called us and demanded that we put her car in a covered area and we accommodated her request.
This vehicle was to be delivered on time as promised. Alecia & fiona, for reasons known only to her, then cancelled the order and demanded that we return her vehicle after we had paid our terminal $100 to pick her car up. We agreed to release her car if she would be kind enough to reimburse us for the expenses incurred. We faxed the proper documents to be signed and faxed back to our customer service department. Alecia & fiona
then faxed the release form directly to the terminal without submitting payment. Our terminal recognized the fax number as a local number and called us to see if Alecia & fiona did in fact pay for expenses incurred.
We advised the terminal that we did not receive payment and that they were not to release the vehicle.
After several attempts to satisfy Alecia & fiona
and receive payment, we released her car and absorbed the costs associated with this move. Our relationship with Alecia & fiona has cost our company $100 and earned us the privilege of being subjected to foul language, verbally abused, having out reputation slandered and our good name drug through the mud.
