DVOR advertised a laser grip sight which clearly indicated a red laser using the same item numbers. The item has a picture on the advertisement showing a pistol emitting a red laser from the pistol grip. Also was a video of the product of the same product emitting a red laser beam using the same product numbers. (See: http://www.opticsplanet.com/crimson-trace-ir-laser-grips-for-beretta-92-96-m9-mil-std-810-ir.html)

After the product arrived I notified the product manufacture the laser sight was not operating. I was then made aware the product required a pair of expensive night vision goggles to enable someone to see the laser beam. I search the DVOR and Parent Company Optics Planet web site and the advertisement has no indication of the laser sight requiring an expensive pair of night vision goggles to enable the operator to see the laser.  When the company was contacted the person stated the "IR" under the picture of the pistol emitting a red laser was where the consumer should have read to understand the product required the addition night vision goggles. I do not agree with the service rep. While the position of the company is that I should have known due to the "IR" being on the advertisement required night vision goggles. I have the opinion that a picture is worth a thousand words, refering to the photograph of a pistol in the picture with a red laser. Also a video which has the product number which shows the laser sight emitting a red laser.

Researching at the product manufacturer web site, www.crimsontrace.com, states in large red letters that the laser requires the night vision goggles. Crimson Trace stated they received several calls about DVOR failing to include the laser required night vision goggles. DVOR has clearly committed a bait and switch violation as well as deceptive business practices.

After speaking with the customer service person claim, “IR” was the information which informed the consumer the laser sight required an expensive pair of night vision goggles. I then researched the meaning of “IR”, the only meaning related to the subject is Infrared Laser (IR).

DVOR offers only store credit and not a refund which requires someone to do business after the company fails to satisfy the complaint.

DEVOR/OpticsPlanet Customer Service

I agree with the rebutal report filed by Teresa F. who reported the exchange. I had to file a complaint with several local, state and federal agencies before DEVOR/OpticsPlanet made any serious attempts to resolve the complaint. The State of Tennessee Department of Consumer Affairs Division opened an active investigation. It was after the investigation was near completion, when I received a call from very profession female, representing DEVOR/OpticsPlanet, who informed me that I would be receiving the product I had ordered.

DEVOR/OpticsPlanet have also changed the advertisement page to the advertisement page used by Crimson Trace. Crimson Trace was also very helpful in resolving this matter by recommending the correct advertisement methods. Crimson Trace has an outstanding product and only wanted their product to maintain an outstanding reputation and record of costomer service.

I have no standing complaint after I accepted the advertised Crimson Trace Laser Grip from DEVOR/OpticsPlanet. I consider the complaint closed without any prejudice.

We are very sorry to hear you were unhappy with your recent shopping experience.  Customer service is our number one priority.

According to our records, you exchanged the IR grip for a non IR grip. I hope the replacement was acceptable.

We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused by this issue. We hope you will see past this single experience and allow us another chance to exceed your expectations in the future.
