A recording of "Sharon" keeps calling and calling to sell me a front page listing on Google even though I'm on the Do Not Call list. I always play along until I get bumped up to a senior sales rep, and then, after wasting a few of their minutes, explain that my business has been closed almost 4 years and I'm on the Don't Call list, and ask them to please stop calling. I'm always nice, and the 25% of reps who don't hang up on me are nice too, and promise to put me on their do not call list. But they keep calling. I know it's the same company because I always ask the reps who they work for before I explain that I no longer have a business. I hope these scammers will be shut down, even though they owners will most likely just start a new scam because they are worse than politicians - at least we, the people, can take the blame for politicians because we vote for them! They call a lot from the number 310-495-4316 but also use 540-218-1040 and other numbers.

Response to "A Salesperson"

AUTHOR: Brad Frank - ()

POSTED: Friday, December 12, 2014

I should have made it clear that I did not begin stringing the reps along until after the 7th or 8th plea with reps to put me on their do not call list because the business had been closed for years. That's THEIR do not call list, not the fedgov's. And note that the reps who did not hang up on me promised me that they would put me on their do not call list – they didn’t say that they didn’t have such a list. Common decency dictates that a telemarketer have such a list; even liberals, who tend to run to the fedgov for almost anything, should realize that we shouldn't need the fedgov for that.

Even without that clarification, I provided more than enough detail for any rational adult to realize that the company was acting unethically by pestering me repeatedly. You obviously do not fall into the "rational" category, because you read my report and are still deluded enough to think that these tactics constitute "operating legitimately and working hard to build their business."

I was NOT wasting their time because they had me on their call list; I was wasting their time because they repeatedly refused to comply with my requests that they stop pestering me. They were wasting MY time!

Your expectation that I should surrender my phone number because I used it for a business for a few years is ludicrous. I've had the number for decades and will not be badgered into giving it up. Dozens of old acquaintances might use it to contact me.

You're point that I did not get ripped off is accurate, if picayune - the company is slimy, be it by design or due to lack of quality control in ensuring employees adhere to common decency.

Given that the business had been closed for years before the calls started - fact I made clear in the original complaint - can you explain the connection you perceive between its closing and the choice I made years later to fight back against the annoying calls?

You know nothing about my business or why it closed. The fact is that the public adored my business. For 14 years they lined up on my doorstep and crushed rose petals at my feet for helping them turn their lives around. The ONLY problem I faced was gov't. Federal, state, and local bureaucrats and the special interests that suck off the socialist teat hounded me daily and sucked the blood from my veins.

Any given salesperson may well have been "innocent" before they dialed my number, but as soon as they failed to pass along my request they became culpable. And if they did pass my request along and their superiors refused to be bothered complying, the fault lies in the slimy company they work for, not in my choices.

From the frustration you exhibit in your description of phone salespeople, it is a good bet that that's how you try to make ends meet. I'm sorry that you don't have the skills for a better paying job, but don't vent at me. It could well be your home life growing up, bad breaks along the way, or some other challenge you faced that was beyond your control. Or it could be you were just lazy and/or made poor choices in school. More likely though, you are a victim of government schools. They do a good to great job with most kids from decent families (90%?), but millions of kids fall through the gaping cracks every year, many of them very intelligent but not in the way that allows them to flourish. It's sad but true. In any case, I really feel sorry for you and hope you work out whatever is causing your issues.

SCAM

AUTHOR: fluxgirl138 - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, July 23, 2014

FYI to the consumers, here are other phone numbers these scum bags call from:

201-243-3407

205-206-7694

206-445-6301

209-220-1957

213-603-9077

253-236-2670

310-229-1022

310-495-4316

347-753-9058

458-201-0419

516-370-4167

614-720-3939

646-475-1664

669-400-3118

713-233-3286

713-391-8768

715-952-4262

720-608-3740

858-220-7108

949-885-3614

And FYI Mr. Sales Person, nobody who has come to this site gives a crap about anything you have to say. These animals DO need to be reported because they are illegally scamming people. And just as well, if a consumer has not been scammed by these people, they are still being harassed. If the FCC does not indeed cover harassment, there are other authorities who do. I have no sympathy for these scumbags. They are not normal people just trying to make an honest living.

YOU DID NOT BUY ANY SERVICE

AUTHOR: Internet Marketer - ()

POSTED: Thursday, June 19, 2014

You did not purchase any service so how could you have been ripped off? Sure they call your because you once had a business but did you know that B2B calls do not apply with the DNS?

Have a look for yourself.

consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0108-national-do-not-call-registry

I am not from this company and have no affiliation and am responding here because this business is operating legitimately and working hard to build their business. Here you are stinging them along letting them think that your business is still open and wasting their time. Why? Because they had you on their call list?

You know some salesperson that called you is probably only making $10/hour calling on the phone all day long hoping to get someone to buy their service so they can make a bonus and actually make a decent living. Doesn't sound like a good job does it? They get hang ups, angry people, people cursing at them for 8 hours a day and then they get someone nice like you only to find out you are stringing them along and you make it that much harder on them to make a buck and feed them selves. All because you are mad at their company because they called you.

Then you go and post a ripoff report because the company calls you often. Change your phone number if you are not doing business any longer. Maybe if you had put your time into your business and not stringing along a innocent salesperson trying to make a buck or posting bogus ripoff reports you would still be running your business!
