Background:
We signed up for WooPayments, a payment solution offered by WooCommerce, under the impression that it would provide reliable and transparent service, including the option for daily payouts. This feature was prominently advertised as part of their offerings and was a critical factor in our decision to use this platform.
The Issue:
After receiving one initial payout, WooPayments began withholding funds from our account. As of today, the amount they are holding has exceeded $12,000. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this, WooPayments has refused to provide a clear explanation or timeline for when these funds will be released.
When contacted, their representatives offered vague and dismissive responses, citing "internal protocols" and pointing us to terms buried in their policies. One representative even stated, "We will decide when to release the money. We don’t disclose either the process or the reason. If you don’t like it, go find a different solution." This is an audacious and unacceptable response when they are holding a significant amount of money that belongs to us.
Why This Is Unacceptable:
- Lack of Transparency: At no point during the onboarding process was it disclosed that payouts could be arbitrarily withheld based on vague internal policies.
