I noticed I was charged $70 NSF charges on my account on 8/11/2020 & 8/18/2020 also and my account was not negative I also called the bank and they said I had holds totaling up to $140 for credit charges .I told her I check my app everynight and I never seen any negative except one night around the 18th I believe or the 11 was two dollars so I transferred $60 from my husband's account to my account and still was not negative I told the manager I have a right to know what charges made my account negative she said she couldn't tell me exactly which consumer had a hold it was a few holds pending and they didn't know the company but I should balance a checkbook .

Even if I balanced a checkbook I wouldn't know of the hold to add into my log because it never showed on either end and I was not informed my account was never in the negative know with over$170 in charges they owe me over $700 in just two weeks it's sad and I feel robbed I have two kids that are freshmen in college and a newborn and also a fourteen year old and my unemployment for the pandemic $900 was taken by the bank and they only say I don't know what to tell you.

Because

AUTHOR: Robert - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 01, 2020

Because it is just a Snapshot of the status of your account at the time you view it.

And I keep records of what I spend so please don't assume and be so ugly
- You only think I am being ugly because I am telling you something you don't want to hear. But the only reason I am saying that you don't keep records is from your own  statement to that fact. Remember this statement "Even if I balanced a checkbook"? You should remember that statement, because you are the one who made it.

But you really did respond as expected, where nothing is your fault. After all even though you keep track of your spending you overdrew your account, again by your own statements.  So that either tells us that you in fact don't track your purchases, or you intentionally spent more than you have available. And yes I did notice that the one thing you didn't mention was anything about any "pre-authorized" transactions you may have done that creates these holds.

You also failed to tell us how the $140 in OD Fees ended up being $700.

You are also not unique, because one common thread is that you have multiple accounts and amazingly only claim that that you have problems with one bank. Of course if you search this site you will see dozens of reports on the other bank you mentioned where the people accuse them of doing the exact same thing you said this bank does. The reality is that you need to immediatly close this account, and use only ONE bank account. Then you don't have to worry about transfering any funds.

Good Luck

For one there's more than snap shots there's a print out from the bank and dated on 8/12 & 8/18 shows I was charged if you can say I was overdrawn on these days show me And I keep records of what I spend so please don't assume and be so ugly I was never overdrawn on these days and I also checked my account every night one of those days I had $2 so I transferred $60 from my capitol One account but NO nothing was ever showing I was negative or even pending a negative .If you want to respond as if your educated please educate yourself on this case before commenting

The bank is right.

You are in this situation for one reason. YOUR failure to propery manage your account.

By your own narrative you knew you were overdrawn. It doesn't matter if you were $2, $20, or $2000 overdrawn, you are overdrawn. So your assertion through the rest of the report about you "never" being overdrawn is a false statement. By the time you saw that you were negative, it was already too late. You can't beat money back to the bank.

As for maintaining your account, you MUST keep a written register where you write down every transaction you make as you make it. You can post all the screenshots you want, they ONLY show the state of your account at the time you view it. Based on your lack of attention to your account it is very likely that you have in fact been overdrawn several times, and tried to beat money back to the bank. Where your snapshot may not show it as negative, but you were at some point.

You say you don't know what company would be putting "holds" on your account. But again, this is YOUR responsibility. If you wrote down every tranaction you would know. This also means any recurring purchase you have authorized. If you don't know what companies you have pre-authorized payments for then that is your second problem, and one that you need to get a handle on ASAP. If after this you truly don't know who is putting holds on your account then report your account compromised and have void that card and issue you a new one.

Because you can't afford to have things such as overdraft fees, you should be extra vigillant in managing your account, not so casual waiting until the bank tells you that you are overdrafted before you do anything.  As an added benefit.  If you do proper management, you will find that you won't have to check your balance as often because you will become secure knowing what you have available...because you are keeping track of it.

The fact that you only talk about $140 in fees turning into them owing you over $700 means there is a lot more to this story that you are NOT telling us. Likely you are leaving things out that don't exactly help your claims.

Oh and don't bother with the "You must work for them". This is a PUBLIC web site and just like you can post, the public can post as well and they may not always be what you
want to hear. Oh and yes I would say the exact same thing regardless of the bank you mentioned.
