I’m a female veteran with PTSD, living alone in a 649 sq ft unit at Citizen House Blue Bluff in Austin, TX, a property managed by Greystar Property Management.

I disclosed my disability multiple times, starting in September 2024, after experiencing severe and repeated noise disturbances that triggered panic attacks and impacted my sleep. Management failed to act for nearly 10 months - they did not investigate, did not follow up, and outsourced me to a third-party security line that repeatedly ignored my calls.

I visited the office and tried not to be demanding or annoying. I've been respectful and kept my composure this entire time despite the daily challenges of this living situation. I am a parent and a student and do not have the means to move - which they told me I am free to do.

Only after I filed a federal HUD complaint in June 2025 was I finally given a reasonable accommodation form - nearly a year after first disclosing my condition.

In addition to being ignored:

  • I documented over 130 videos of pounding, crashes, wall impacts, and ceiling noise at all hours of the day and night

  • Ongoing venomous pest issues for almost a year (ex. Three separate scorpions were found inside my apartment within a week)

  • Management delayed, deflected, and failed to offer a meaningful resolution

I’m in grad school. I work full time. I repeatedly asked for help, and I was ignored.

This is not an isolated issue — other tenants have since come forward with similar experiences.

***If you’ve experienced anything similar, reach out. We are organizing.***

If you're considering living at a Greystar property, ask this:

What happens when you ask for help?

How do they respond to disability disclosures?

What will they do when the problem is theirs?

I'm posting this to protect others and organize. This isn't a one-time issue - this is a pattern.
