Oportun has frooze my account they has stopped me from making payments. Their lame excuse is that because I have a lawyer is the reason why oportun has stipped me from making payments.

Oportun has stopped me from making payments from January 22nd continuing onward april 9th and beyond.

Oportun are crooks they are deliberatly damaging my credit report by not letting me make any payments, Just because I have a lawyer. I am a united states citizen and Ibam supposed to have a lawyer, Who does oportun think they are to stop me from making monthly payments just because I have a lawywr and been having a lawyer way before I started doing business with oportun.

Oportun needs to be severely investigated by the state of california for customer abuse and misconduct.

Why?

AUTHOR: Robert - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, April 10, 2020

I'm going to find out what the state of california business law penal code says about a business must lock out a customer because he / she has a lawer
- Why not just ask your attorney?

The reason is simple as to why you don't ask your attorney, you don't have one. If you had an attorney you would not be posting the jibberish you've posted.

Instead you likely told them you had an attorney as a threat, figuring that you could get them to do what ever you wanted. However, they didn't respond like you thought and by your lie you now find yourself in a bigger mess.

You posted this on a Public Web site for the public to see and comment on, so if this isn't right why not just post the whole story.

I Don't Listen To Small Business Sell Out Coons

AUTHOR: Dan - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, April 10, 2020

1st of all ignorance to the law, Small businesses make up their own unlawful rules. I asked you and anybody else show me the state of california penal code that states that it is the law for a company to freeze a customers account because he or she has a lawyer?? Since none of you brain dead sheeple can find that proof, Shut your pie hole. Customers are right, Did you dummies forget that fact of law huh? So don't come to my post talking all that loose lip, giggly jaw boofoonary that your bird seed pee brain spills out.

Your rebutal is not actual, If its not in the law books, Your just the blind leading the blind. You can't tell me nothing. So stop being a small business sell out coon and get some knowledge on the laws of the land. Not small business loop hole tactics of which they use to abuse customers. I fight, I love to file court cases against crooked businesses and against small butt kissers like you. What else your bird seed pee brain have to say. I'm waiting I'll be back like a boomerang Always ready for a fight you coward

Missing Information

AUTHOR: John - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, April 10, 2020

This company didn't just pop up one day and ask "do you have a lawyer?" and when you said "yes," decided to freeze your accounts. Why are you writing like a preschooler ("I am an American citizen I have a right to have a lawyer?") and just tell us what's going on here? As the previous poster suggested, it's pretty clear you engaged in a dispute with this company and decided to get an attorney involved. At that point yes, the company you have the dispute with will speak only to your attorney. That's just smart legal practice.

Stop stamping your foot like a child and tell us what this is all about, or stop fishing for sympathy by telling half the story. And BTW, also, do not come back with "this is none of your business" (this is a public forum and you put your story out for the public to comment on) or "you must work for them" (I do not.)

I have a Lawyer, I'm Suppose To

AUTHOR: Dan - (United States)

POSTED: Thursday, April 09, 2020

The idea of a customer having a lawyer is not against the law. A company who denies services because a customer has a lawyer is unlawful and unjust period point blank. So by a business freezing services because the customer has a lawyer is pure bull. Oportun asked me if I have a lawyer I said yes, Then Oportun started there unlawful unjust illegal freezing of my account.

I can have a lawyer for anything Entertainment Lawyer Criminal Lawyer Real Estate Lawyer Oportun feels that a customer can't have no lawyer of any kind, Which is wrong. I'm going to find out what the state of california business law penal code says about a business must lock out a customer because he / she has a lawer

Lawyer

AUTHOR: Robert - (United States)

POSTED: Thursday, April 09, 2020

What's the full story? Why do you have a Lawyer and why do they know about it?

The fact that you have an attorney pretty much says you are trying to dispute something with them. Once you notify them that you have an attorney, most companies will basically cut off all communications with you unless you go through your attorney.

What's your attorney say about them not allowing you to make payments?
