What They Did to Me (and What They Do to Others):
1. False Promises of Professional Legitimacy
The Relationship School strongly implies its programs offer professional coaching certification with career opportunities. However, there is no recognized accreditation, and the so-called “certification” has no value in any licensed professional field (e.g., psychology, therapy, or social work). They carefully word their marketing to imply legitimacy, using phrases like “mastery,” “certification,” and “relationship coach,” but none of it is regulated, recognized, or academically approved.
2.
Emotional Manipulation and Sales Pressure
Their entire marketing funnel is emotionally loaded. They target people going through difficult relationships, personal crises, or unresolved trauma. Through webinars, live calls, and social media, they create a sense of urgency and fear that without their program, you will never grow or heal. The sales conversations aren’t informative — they are high-pressure emotional pitches designed to make you feel broken, inadequate, and dependent on their solution.
They present the program as “transformational” and “necessary,” subtly manipulating people into believing that not enrolling equates to self-abandonment or failure.
3.
Predatory “Hardship Contracts”
For those who cannot afford the steep tuition (often $5,000 USD or more), they offer a so-called “hardship program”. This appears compassionate on the surface, but is in fact a legal trap. These contracts lock clients into payment plans with no escape clause, even if the program turns out to be harmful or deceptive.
In my case, I was approved for hardship assistance, only to later have the terms changed after I had begun. When I could not pay, they began harassment via email, followed by a formal letter demanding payment — despite the fact that I had withdrawn due to emotional distress caused by the program.
4.
Retaliation Through Legal Threats
When I began to speak out about my experience, I received a cease and desist letter signed by Jayson Gaddis and their attorney, Justin C. Konrad. The letter accused me of defamation, breach of contract, and fraud, simply because I posted about my story online.
This is a clear pattern. They appear to use legal intimidation (via U.S. mail, even to Canadian residents like myself) to silence complaints and suppress negative reviews. They referenced my Reddit posts — a chilling indication that they actively monitor and stalk former clients online.
5.
Gaslighting and Psychological Harm
The way they frame conflict or dissent is also manipulative. If you question anything — the contract, the quality of the course, or the legitimacy of their claims — you are labeled as “not ready,” “resistant,” or “in avoidance.” This gaslighting technique is extremely damaging to people already in emotionally vulnerable states. Instead of offering support, they pathologize criticism and blame the client.
They talk constantly about “secure relating” and “conscious conflict,” but in practice, they refuse to take accountability, do not issue refunds, and resort to threats rather than communication.
Conclusion:
The Relationship School is not a legitimate educational institution. It is a manipulative coaching business that profits off emotional distress, uses unethical contracts, and retaliates against complaints with legal bullying tactics. I was misled, financially harmed, and emotionally manipulated — and I’m speaking out so others don’t fall into the same trap.
