I am writing this to share my personal experience with The Relationship School, run by Jayson Gaddis, based in Boulder, Colorado. I enrolled in one of their coaching programs and paid $6,000 via credit card. I was led to believe I was investing in a legitimate, high-quality training experience — one that would give me recognized certification and support me in starting a professional coaching practice.

Before signing up, I was told that the program was either accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF) or in the process of becoming accredited. I was under the impression that this would be an official, career-advancing certification. That turned out to be false. After I paid and began the program, I eventually found out that The Relationship School is not accredited by the ICF — and as far as I could tell, it never had been. That realization was incredibly disappointing. If I had known the truth from the beginning, I never would have signed up.

In addition to the misleading accreditation claims, my experience within the program felt highly uncomfortable and emotionally pressured. From the beginning, the atmosphere was rigid and controlling. Students were expected to keep their cameras on at all times, not eat, not move around, and give full, undivided attention. While structure is fine, the tone quickly turned into something that felt more like emotional control than professional instruction.

When I started to question whether this was the right fit for me, I asked about leaving the program. That’s when things got worse. I received multiple emails from their team, warning me that I owed the full program fee regardless of how far I had gone. I was also told that I could be taken to small claims court if I stopped paying or if I spoke out. The messages were firm and clearly meant to intimidate me into silence and continued payment — even though I was no longer participating.

There was no meaningful refund policy. I was told I had a very short window (just a few days) to cancel if I wanted any money back. After that, the course was considered “non-refundable,” even if I hadn’t completed it or found it harmful. I never received a refund of any kind.

It also shocked me to find out that some of the Zoom coaching sessions were being recorded, and some were even used online. I wasn’t fully aware this would happen, and I did not feel like I had truly consented to have personal information shared or used for promotional purposes.

Overall, I felt emotionally manipulated and financially exploited. I signed up for what I believed was a professional coaching program with real credentials and support — what I got instead was a deeply uncomfortable experience that cost me thousands of dollars, left me feeling stressed, and gave me no usable certification in the end.

This is not a bitter complaint — it’s a warning to anyone who is thinking about joining The Relationship School. Ask questions. Get proof. And be aware that once you pay, there may be no way out without losing your money and dealing with threats if you challenge it.

If you’re considering this program, please take my experience into account and proceed with caution. I wish I had known what I was getting into.
