I had purchased a brand new cell phone from Spectrum Mobile, but it was stolen.  So I called and asked if I could get a cheaper unlocked phone and switch it to another carrier and continue to pay down the debt.  I was told yes I could do that.  But then I get an email saying that since I ported the number over, that would knock out my ability to pay it down monthly.

Then I called again to let them know that I didn't have $332 to pay it in full!  So after calling again, a woman I spoke to fixed the financial aspect of it so I could pay monthly until fully paid.  Then I got another email wanting the FULL amount.  People should know that this can happen to them, especially if they're phone is stolen and cannot repay the full amount.

Doesn't make sense

AUTHOR: Robert - (United States)

Your actions don't match up with your post.

If your phone was "stolen" why would you want a cheap unlocked phone to just change providers? Why wouldn't you continue to pay them down monthly and stay with them?

I have a feeling that the answer to that, and some other details you seem to have left out, would answer the question as to if your phone really got stolen.

Did you file a police report for your "stolen" phone?

All it takes is one idiot

Sure.  Blame it on me because I didn't see the need to spend money on the insurance.   Yeah, I should've done it, but I was simply trying to reduce costs.  Maybe your sins and faults should be put out so everyone could see your issues and why you aren't a better person!  Again, dude, I called and asked if this would be alright, and I was told yes it would.

I frickin' guess I should get people's names, date of birth, last four of SSN and their RH factor to identify them later.  I am human... not perfected...yet!  Do you understand that???

The Gamble YOU DECIDED To Take

They offered you insurance and you chose NOT get it. Therefore YOU gambled and lost. That’s NOT their fault nor are you entitled to any special treatment because you refused insurance coverage which would have taken care of this matter.
