In 2024, I applied and sent money via wire transfer to SME Consortium Ltd for an online program, with exams scheduled at the university in January 2025. I submitted my General Education Diploma (GED) transcript in July, but it appears they did not understand what a GED was. I was later asked to provide it again, but no concerns were raised about its validity at that time.

Despite being told I was enrolled, I was never granted access to the pre-recorded lectures between September and December 2024. By November, I could no longer reach the agent assisting me. I formally requested a refund from both SME and the university via email, but my request was ignored.

In January 2025, I arrived in the country but did not have a D3 student visa, as SME had stopped communicating and failed to issue it. When I visited the university in person, a representative confirmed I was enrolled but found no record of me receiving access to the online lectures. She advised me to request permission to sit for the final exams. Shortly after gaining access, I realized that catching up on months of lectures in just a few days was impossible.

Within five days, I suddenly received an email accusing me of fraud regarding my transcript. I was removed from the program, denied a refund, and falsely told I had access from September to December 2024. SME and the university ignored my formal refund requests for months, withheld services without explanation, and then used fraud accusations as a tactic to avoid issuing a refund. Their actions—including unresponsiveness, sudden fraud claims, and refusal to return funds—strongly indicate an intentional scheme to defraud me.

This situation has been incredibly frustrating and unfair. I have been intentionally misled, denied access to what I paid for, and then falsely accused of fraud as a way to deny my refund. Based on this it appears that this company is a scam or at the very least, intentionally engages in highly unethical business practices.
