1-800-PACKRAT PACK-RAT Moving and Storage I felt I was ripped off and scammed Greensboro NC - North Carolina

I want to share my experience with this company and explain why I feel that this company is a COMPLETE RIP-OFF.  I thought about taking them to small claims court for fraud, but, you know what... if can get 1 person to rethink using them, it'll be worth the $250 they kept from me.  I contacted several container moving companies back in Oct 2015 regarding my move from CA to NC.  I received a quote and the women told me that she needed a credit card to reserve the pricing because they frequently go up.  I told her I didn't have a move date and she said that's okay lets just put it out out until Feb 1st 2016 and call us when you have a move date.  At that time you'll have to cancel 5 days before the move date.  I ended up using U-Pack to make the move in Dec 2015 (better pricing).  Now comes Feb 1st 2016 and I see a $500 charge to my credit card, so, I called them and asked what was going on.  They said that I didn't cancel 5 days before my move date.  I said I never gave you a frickin move date because I didn't know when I was moving.  Told them I'm already in NC and had been here since Dec after using a different company.  Get this, I did not receive one call from them from the time I spoke to them in Oct 2015 until the time they charged my card (and I called them).  Now if you were a business owner and had a move scheduled for Feb 1st, wouldn't you to confirm at least a week or 2 prior??  Horrible customer service.  They finally refunded $250 but refused to refund the rest.  So, basically they took $250 from me for doing absolutely nothing.  Check out the web, you'll find similar stories.  This is why I feel that Pack Rat is a COMPLETE RIP OFF AND SCAM  (This is my opinion and derived from my own experience with them)
