1st Financial Bank First Financial Bank A Huge Ripoff Charges Me Almost 30% Interest Without Me Defaulting N Sioux City, South Dakota

This has got to be the worst company you can get a credit card with.  The company intentionally targets many high school and college students and offers them a fairly easy way to get credit.  They initially offered me an interest rate of 0% on purchases up to $250 and 19.95% on purchases above that.  Yes this is already a rip off at that rate, but I was trying to establish some credit early.

Flash forward a few years and my interest rate has been raised to 21.95% in 2008, then to 23.9% on purchases in 2009, and then 29.9% in 2010!  Rates this high should be criminal. The real kicker is that I have payed my bills on time since I got the card in 2006.

The worst part is the customer service.  I tried to get my interest rate lowered and they asserted that because of the economy this was "the lowest rate" that they could offer me.  Anyone with any kind of sense knows that this is bs.  To add even more insult to injury they do not even give any kind of rewards. 


The thing that really pissed me off was one of the customer service reps.  I called multiple times, and one of the senior female customer service reps hung up on me more than once!  Do yourself a favor and shred the credit card offer when you get it in the mail.
