I am the employee that is named in the previous complaint and wish to clear the air about a couple of half-truths. Incidentally, I am proud to work for 21st Century Legal Services as I am able to see first hand all the good that we do for homeowners that are facing financial hardship. "Lucinda" was never told that we were Bank of America. We are able to locate homeowners that are in financial hardship and risk of foreclosure through many sources, including their current lender. We do not however, inform the client that we are that particular lender. This would be misrepresentation and "Lucinda" could have easily checked her caller i.d. to determine whether that was accurate or not. Hopefully, caller i.d. is available in Spring Hill Florida. During the course of our conversation I came to learn that "Lucinda" was seriously delinquent on her mortgage and at severe risk of foreclosure. I was actually surprised that the sheriff had not already paid her a visit to request that she vacate the premises. We determined that she indeed wanted to stay in the home and needed professional assistance in that endeavor. I informed "Lucinda" of our cost for services and that was not a starting cost, but a cost for the entire process that in all likelihood would last for the next 90 to 120 days. Considering the nature of her case, which I cannot go into too much detail, the cost was more than fair. I guess it's true what they say; no good deed goes unpunished. We are a Legal Services Co. under the scope and direction of attorneys at law and are therefore authorized to charge a fee for our services. Period. If "Lucinda" would have taken the next step and signed authorization that allows our company to represent her in this matter, one of the first documents she would have seen is our money back guarantee. This states that if for whatever reason your lender denies our request to modify and cure your mortgage, all funds are returned to you. The bottom line is that we are in the business of helping people and we do so everyday of the week. For "Lucinda" to state that we are committing fraud and should be arrested is the height of ignorance. And that is why I chose the title of this response to be ;"Do Not Let Ignorance Be Your Guide..."
