i purchased appliances and 3pd is the shipping company hired to deliver, at first all was well, the order made it to des plains il quickly, but there it has sat for over 2 weeks now. i was assured the delivery would be friday the 20th between 1-3. my husband took the day off to recieve the delivery. 3pd called at 3:30 to say driver was running behind 1 hour.. this happens. they then called back at 5:30 to say they wouldnt be able to deliver that day... my husband told them he wanted this delivery to be there no later than saturday the 21st. they said ok. they then called back at 6:30 and stated the couldnt deliver before wed. the 25th, unacceptable. after questioning the person on the phone, we find out the order is still in des plains, more than 2 hours away.. this is blatant lying, and we dont understand why..

I have to side with this employee... I wonder if he or she knows if this is the same company that Sears uses to deliver to customers in Michigan? If so, I have a story to tell, and it is not a pretty one at all. Before I file my report I want to validate exactly who 3PD is as I find nothing about this company in Michigan - yet Sears claims this is who they contract with for deliveries. Been a 2 week nightmare so far, including the delivery man stealing my dying husband's narcotics... I could go on and will, once I uncover who the real company is. Then Sears and this phantom "3PD" will not be happy I've exposed this horror I've been subjected to. Please, let me know at your earliest convenience if this is same company Sears uses in Michigan, if you know, and also their contact info. Thank you very much!

You should be aware that 3PD and HH Gregg regularly rip off consumers on delivery/setup.
I am a contractor with 3PD for the past 5 months...I should know.
They regularly send us out with way more stops than we can handle. We work 13-17 hours a day for a "per stop" rate that ends up paying us less than minimum wage.
We drive 140-200 miles per day...our windshield time alone attributes to 5 or 6 hours per day. Then, you add in the 2 hours it takes to load the truck and check out in the AM. When you consider that, plus how many stops we must make, we are regularly "late" at no fault of our own. I feel sorry for the people who sit around all day waiting for us to show up.
HH Gregg and 3PD management are completely inept...they would rather yell and curse at their employees versus understand what the real issues are and "work it out".
They regularly charge people $90 for delivery/setup. They pay $35 to the contractor, who must provide a truck, fuel, insurance, workers, etc. When a customer is far away, they charge an extra $25 for the delivery, but, they give NONE of that to the contractor who has extra expense in making that delivery in the form of fuel, miles and time to get to these far away deliveries. All they are doing is making another $25 for the delivery! I have had some of these deliveries...some cost me an extra $30-$35 just in fuel expense going so far out of my way...it is rediculous.
As a contracor, we must inspect EVERY single piece before it is loaded on our truck or fear damage claims...we regularly find broken parts, dents, scratches when we take them out of the box...that is because 3PD and HH Gregg do NOT know how to handle pieces in the warehouse and have NO system of accountability when they handle pieces.
If you want to rip off HH Gregg, order an "open box" floor piece, have it delivered, then claim it doesn't work right...they will get you a BRAND NEW ITEM for the same price!!!
I hope this sheds some light and helps you realize, the crew that is showing up to make your delivery aren't to blame...it is 3PD and HH Gregg you should hold responsible.
