When you have to spend hours to get a small $10 or $20 rebate it quickly becomes not worth it.  I suppose this is possibly the scam being run by 4myrebate.com by losing part(s) of a rebate that is submitted then quickly denying the claim.

About one month ago I purchased an Asus GT610 silent video card at Micro Center which carried with it a $10 mail-in rebate.  I submitted ALL required paperwork on to have 4myrebate.com tell me I did not include the barcode label.  Funny thing though, it's been cut away from the box in which the video card was packaged and each little box of things to include were checked off as well.

This is because I MAILED IT TO THEM AND THEY APPARENTLY LOST IT.  So, I responded to their denial email letting them know that the barcode label was indeed included in the mailing and I attached two photographs.  One of the original box showing the barcode label is missing from it and another of the box clearly showing the Micro Center Sku Label.

I got a reply from that email asking me to call into customer server.  After explaining the situation I was on hold from probably 10 or 15 minutes and was told that it would have to be handled by "the project manager" and that it was being turned over to that person and basically they would be in touch.  After approximately 8 days of not hearing anything I emailed them again inquiring on the status and got the exact same reply to call into customer service.

So, now I'm thinking their "help" email address must be an automated response bot and a waste of time.  I call back in and explain the whole thing over and inform the rep that I had not received a response and wanted to check status.  I was on hold for probably 20 minutes and they only answer I got was "we are waiting for the status to update and we will contact you once that happens".

Alot of work for a measly $10 dollars but the offer of a rebate played a big role in my selected this particular video card, I filled out the forms and submitted it to the letter.  I have a big problem trying to understand how with such an impressive scanning system that a label is simply lost and further how they can't own up to the fact that is was their mistake.  After all, the point of a rebate is to attract a buyer and then prove the item was purchased and issue the rebate.

Having submitted supporting documentation and having provided photos of the original manufacturers box missing that important barcode label pretty much means I bought the d**n thing.  At this point I would recommend to anyone that is going to purchase an Asus product with a rebate offer or if you can verify that any offer from any manufacturer is going to be processed by 4myrebate that you pass on the purchase because unfortunately now given the amount of time I have spent on 4myrebate's mistake, even if they grant the rebate, it isn't worth this amount of time.  It appears to be a big scam on consumers by Asus and/or 4myrebate.
