BE WARNED! 702Traffic is a SCAM and a RIPOFF. They claim to offer attorney representation for clients - Not true. In my case it was a simple speeding ticket for which I paid them a fee of $400. When you retain 702Traffic for services you will quickly find out two things: (1) you will NEVER speak with an actual attorney and, (2) once they have your money it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of anyone regarding your case. It is unclear to me at this point whether I was ever actully represented by an attorney in court at all.

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS:

STEP 1, THE PITCHMAN:
When you dial 702Traffic, a buffoon named Kirk Helmick will answer the phone. He is simply a salesman and will tell you whatever you want to hear to get your credit card number. If you ask him, he will admit that he is not an attorney, but will assure you that you will be represtented by an attorney. Once you've completed their form and paid your fee, Kirk Helmick will NEVER speak to you again, PERIOD. If you call Mr. Helmick's number (702Traffic) he will quickly refer you to a 'customer service line" and hang up on you before you can say another word.

STEP 2, THE RUNAROUND:
When you call the "customer service line" you will reach the cell phone of the seemingly only other employee of 702Traffic, Kris Helmick - Not sure if this is Kirk's wife or his daughter - but Kris sounds like she is 9 years old and she has the intellectual capacity of algae... Speaking to Kris is as productive as speaking to an athlete's foot fungus that you found growing between your toes.  If you are lucky enough to get a hold of Kris you will usually hear the sounds of a TV and/or dog and/or street noise in the background. If you look into it you will discover that 702Traffic's listed business addresses are actually a residence and a P.O Box, not an actual office. Kris will generally tell you that an unnamed attorney is working on your case and that she will get back to you with an update... FYI- SHE WILL NEVER GET BACK TO YOU WITH AN UPDATE. I spoke with Kris on a few occassions prior to my court date in an effort to find out what attorney was representing me so that I could prepare for the case. She blew me off completely. I grew increasingly desperate in the week leading up to my court date and repeatedly tried to reach Kirk and/or Kris. 702Traffic refused to answer my calls. Needless to say I was never able to speak with an actual attorney.

STEP 3: THE PHONY OUTCOME
My court date came and went while I was out of town. After the court date I repeatedly called the "customer service line" for an update and status report, but heard nothing back. After a couple of weeks I received a letter stating that I had been represented by an attorney named Bishop, and that the judge had reduced my speeding ticket to a non-moving violation. According to the letter I received from 702 Traffic, I was required to pay a fine and complete traffic school. My relief in receiving this letter was short lived. About a month after receiving my bogus 702Traffic letter, I received another letter - this one was from the DMV. Much to my chagrin, the DMV letter simply stated that I had been convicted of speeding and that a 1 point violation had been assessed on my driving record.

I attempted to work with 702Traffic (Kirk Helmick and Kris Helmick) to resolve this obvious discepency between reality and the statements in their bogus letter... After a few months of getting the runaround, and then being completely ignored, I realized that the whole thing was just big scam!

These people are clowns!  I requested that 702Traffic refund my $400 fee, but they have refused. In total the damage is as follows:

$400 702Traffic Representation Fee
$278 Fine
$57 Additional Fine
$25 Traffic School
$400 appx additional annual expense on my insurance rate due to the 1 point violation

TOTAL DAMAGE = $1,160 this year, plus my ongoing hit to my insurance premiums...

At this point I don't care about the $$... I'm simply writing this now to warn other prospective clients: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE GOOFBALLS!! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!

The Truth! About 702TRAAFFIC

AUTHOR: snowryder986 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 25, 2012
First - 702 traffic obviously has a an attorney represent you in court if you hire them for a traffic ticket. Anyone who believes that a non-attorney goes to court on their behalf is not intelligent, the court would simply not allow this and the ticket would have gone into warrant. This did not happen as this person states. Furthermore, there is no reason that this person would need to talk to the attorney representing him in court because there is nothing that is needed to be communicated between the attorney and the client for a simple traffic ticket. By doing this it keeps the price the client pays to have their traffic ticket taken to court cheaper.

Second - The phone number to our customer service line is 702-367-4878 and is answered every time no matter what, between the hours of 9-6 Monday thru Friday. If this person called he would realize that we would help him with any problems that he may have had. Most of the time ticket takes a 3 to 4 months from beginning to end. If this person would allow us to do our job then he may have been a little happier. We can only move as fast as the court allows us. We have never refused to take anyone's calls.

Third -
If this person did as the letter told him to do then he would not have any points on his record. It sounds like he failed to complete traffic school which would result in the point on his record.

Fourth-
When we are hired for a California ticket we tell our clients from the beginning that there are no guarantees with a California ticket. Just like any other attorney in the world, some cases are lost. This case happens to be a case where we didn't get the best outcome, but most of the cases we do are better outcomes than this, such as having no points, no traffic school and no fine owed to the court. No attorney can win every case, Its is common sense. We also explain that in the rare instances if we happen to lose a case then there are no refunds.

Fifth - We have been open for close to 10 years and have successfully resolved over 50,000 tickets. If there is only one complaint (and a bogus one at that) then I would say that the service standards are exceptional when 702traffic deals with reasonable intelligent people.
