My husband is active duty, we have been struggling to take care of 3 kids, since we moved again. 2 months ago these people just started taken 500 out of each pay date. No notice or anything. I have pulled credit a few times and it was never on there. It something he had back in 2003. now it over 8000 with late fees and fines. We can barely put food in refrigerator. I am still looking for a job I can work at night or weekends, we have only 1 car. I stay home with children during day. I cant believe my husband service his country and they do this to him. When we ask how they let it go this long they claim they didn't know where he was. yet they sure new enough to take his money. They have now taken 2200, does anybody have any help for on off our nations soldiers...

Not sure how to help you with AAFES, byt to help you pay problem for your family. Have your husband start an allotment through mypay for the maximum amount to a seperate bank account. Your allotments can nor be touched by AAFES or the IRS. It will buy you the time you need to sort the problem out, and still take care of the family. Good luck.

Depending on what branch of the service your husband is in you can get financial assistance.. Im AF and we have Air Force Aid Society that helps with bad times with an interest free loan with very low payments.. Unfortunately the military will garnish your wages for a debt they really dont care how much money you have left.. I have had friends who got hundreds taken from their paycheck leaving them only a couple hundred to live off of..

Considering he has been on and off base , every time you change they wont let you unless it was paid. Which he thought it was. They wont even let you buy things if you owe the store. We pay are bills, thank you very much. Thanks for all your help.

No, Really

It's been 7 years, did he really think that they would "forget" about the amount that he owed them? IF he had taken care of it back in 2003, it wouldn't be $8,000. Just because he's "one of our nation's soldiers", doesn't mean he DOESN'T has to pay what he owes. AAFES's misson is to support "our nation's soldiers and airpersons". Kind of hard to do when you don't get paid. Have you asked your husband what happened?
