Just 2 days before I purchased sony HDRXR500 HD camcorder from abesofMaine website. One of the CSR "Rob" Called me and confirmed my shipping and billing address and tried to sell me some additional package ( battery , charger , uv filter and camcorder bag) which I softly refused and reiterated that I dont want these items . But immediately after 10 mins I got a confirmation mail from AbesofMaine which included this additional package item ($125 ) along with the Camcorder .

 

I received this shippment on Friday and I called CSR for RMA# in order to return this, but nobody responded me .

 

Then On Sunday , I came in person to store at Edision in order to return all these Items .But person named "Ike" , whom I met first told me that there is no CSR (Customer Service representative) and asked me to call after some time, When I called him after an one hour, he asked me to come to store and do return. When I went again , a person name Kyle , was ready to take refund and took photocopy of my "Order Receipt" which came along with the shipment and wrote "Refund" by normal pen with a refund amount and asked to to drop the package in store and take this hand written "Order receipt" with me (and he quoted me that billing dept people are not in the office today, he can not give me official return receipts) . he also said in 3-4 days , I would be receiving a confirmation  email about these return transactions and amount will be returned to "Bill of Later" through which I took fianance for this purchasing.

 

I was not confident with the handwritten refund process and didnt return items and told kyle that I would come again tomm in store for this refund and collect official return receipt , once billing dept peoples are available.I will go tommorrow and try to do refund. Will post my experience based upon my tommorrows visit.

Abes of Maine, cannot be trusted

I ordered camera from Abe's of Maine. Received email order confirmation. I also received email to call 1-800-992-2237 ext. 272 to talk to Jeff. I did. Jeff asked me what battery pack I want to buy with camera. I told him that I can use battery from my older Sony camera. I also ask him question about camera I ordered. It was just simple question "Is the camera I ordered International version or version manufactured for US market" (since this is not mentioned on company web page). He obviously did not like my question and start to argue with me. As the result he canceled my order for no reason. Very unpleasant experience.

Beware of Abes of Maine

Buyers Beware! This is a big ripoff company called Abes of Maine! They are a Bait & Switch operation!

Abes of Maine, they run a scheme called “Predatory free capitalism” it's a terrible inhumane deplorable practice, they're going to sucker you in with low prices and then they're going to rip you apart and then they going to upsell you on things that should of been involved. Abes of Maine is what’s wrong with society. If you’re wondering what is wrong with society, this is one company that is using deplorable’s business practices to do whatever they want and rip people off! There are so many complaints on this business, it is unbeliveable they are still in business.

Don't buy from Abes of Maine, these guys are a bait & switch operation, they're method of business is scheming people with extra fees, they call to verify your card but also they will add charges and bill you anyway without notification even if you decline to accept the item, they are ruthless and they have a department for chargeback, they apparently have a lot of angry customers that have declined payments where they are horrible over the phone and have the worst record on for online reviews. Yes they will think of any reason to raise the price after you made the purchase. I mean seriously read the online reviews on this company; they have customer after customer of their shrewd service on a host of complaints all over the internet on this scheme operation. Buyers beware, do NOT buy from these people. Worst experience ever is with this company, had to fight my bank to get my money back and to see how they responded to the bank, yes they lied to my bank and they wouldn't return my calls or emails to them, even their supervisor.

Sarah Helped me to resolve this issue

My today's visit to Abesofmaine store in Edision was succesfull.  This was my second purchasing( 1 yr before I purchased Nikon D50) from Abesofmaine as they are best in price tag.But this time got some bad experience. And after wasting 2 full days in NJ along with family ,finally Sarah  helped me to resolve an issue and arranged refund. I appreciate her help and will continue do online purchasing with them again, assuming next time will not face any issue.

Just now got a positive and quick repsonse from Sarah about processing of this refund. I really appreciate Sarah's response.Will go tommorrow to the store and return these items.
