2 months ago I decided to try Acai Berry Breeze.  The trial bottle was $1.98.  I attempted to charge my debit card but it would not go through.  Thank goodness for that.  I used another card which did go through.  After doing this I never heard a word, no email no nothing, and no charges on the credit card.  The bottle of Acai Berry Breeze arrived in a bag with no invoice.  The bottle had an address in Arizona printed on it but no telephone number.  The charge did go through on the credit card.

2 days ago my credit card company advised me that a charge from Germany was declined for $83.50 from a company called Slimmed Up.  Mind you I had still not received any emails regarding this product.  I told them I did not authorize this charge and cancelled the card.  They told me to call the company which I did.  Interestingly enough, when I called I could hear another company rep telling someone "Look you got the product, what I can do is split the cost.  You already got the product in the mail..."  that's all I heard.  I told the rep I did not authorize the charge.  She began with "If you look at the web site it tells you that you have 14 days to cancel or we will auto-ship the product." I told her I did not have a way to contact them and did not remember the web address.  I asked her, shouldn't you have given me an invoice or some paperwork?  I also said there was no invoice in the bag with the bottle, so how could I call them?   I bottom-lined it for her that they are not getting the money and it is being treated as a fraudulent claim.  She backed down nicely and said there was nothing they could do.  I also said from what I heard in the background that this happens all the time, right?  She did not answer that question.

I was reading other posts.  I also see where they delayed the shipping to cover the 14 day cancellation period.  Read other posts, very tricky stuff.

The credit card company is following up on this fraud.  This place may have gotten some of us on a technicality, but it isn't right. A boilerplate company has one office to make the calls and another to collect the money.  I bet it's harder to prosecute a company in Germany for fraud in the U.S. Bottom line:  there are some nice little vitamin/supplement companies in the U.S. that sell Acai Berry products.  They are relatively inexpensive, so try it through someone legit.
