ace pick a part is a u-pull-it auto salvage located in jacksonville florida and a few other cities. they are truely a 666 beast junkyard and should be put out of business or destroyed by a hurricane hopefully.
first you cant even get in without a government issued ID card or driver license no matter what age you are all have to show a ID, they dont even accept military ID cards. what a shame if you fight for your country in some war and cant even get into a stupid junk yard to pull parts.
next, you have to sign in at cashier and tell them the exact car part, year and make of car, you cant just look around yard. they require that you get a print out sheet, you must also have this same print out in order to buy parts when you check out or they wont sell them to you. IM DEAD SERIOUS. you cant pull transmissions or oil pans, they wont sell them for liability reasons. they no longer answer phone calls or tell you how much parts cost over phone.
the best way to deal with places like this is to never shop there, that will eventually force them out of business if they dont get destroyed by a hurricane or RIOT! if you live in jacksonville FL. go to jacksonville u-pull-it, they are human with you 100% and no stupid ID needed to get it and pull what you want!!

Ace Pick-A-Part Never Again
AUTHOR: JazzFan - (USA)

I have just spent a lovely Saturday afternoon in the hot 90 degree sun at Ace Pick-A-Part. First they only take cash and not credit card for entry, but allow them for purchases. I had to go to a small overpriced ATM at a sandwich shop down the street for money.
As was expressed by others, you really do need to have ID to get in which is quite odd. The good news is that I found half of my parts in 30 minutes. That was because half of the cars on the inventory provided to me could not be found.
Next, I waited two hours in line in the hot Florida sun while I waited to be rung up. Lastly, the old lady at the cash register messed up the totals twice and ended up shorting me $5. After arguing with her for 15 minutes I gave up and left. The old man that was outside swore up and down that she was good, but he was lost too. Its funny that I could add the total in my head more accurately and faster than they could with a register.
The line was long and bordering on a riot with one customer that was simply losing it by ranting, waving, walking around everyone and flipping the bird due to the wait and heat.
I have used other u pulls in Jacksonville and have had really good service without great expectations since I am frequenting a salvage yard. I have even had owners throw in small or cheap parts that were not worth wasting their time for free. This was my first time there and sadly, I will never return again.
It is better to frequent other places, burn up gas and go to another city, or to simply buy the parts online. Avoid this place like the plague!

whatever!!!, what junk yard do you know in florida that requires a stupid id card for entry, name me one??, i just went to copher bros in sarasota bradenton and they could care less about id's plus there age limit is 16 not 18. they also allow parts as long as you have them marked at cashier before you go inside. they are true HUMAN american junk yards and thats why they get lots of business, you guys dont even have a price sign posted so you can rip people off by dictating prices at checkout. i bought a bumper peice for $4 and a drive belt for $2 AT (((competitor's name redacted))) JUNK YARD.
you guys are not human beings, a junk yard should be trying to get rid of all junk to preserve the environment, instead you let cars sit for months, overcharge people, dont even have a fair posted sign in front with all price for people to see!!
you require id's for all people even old people so you can scan them, you demand to know what they are looking for to get a print out sheet, then you refuse to sell to a person if they checkout without this same sheet, even if they have cash in there hand with part pulled, you refuse there money.go figure!!
WARNING PEOPLE, DONT SHOP HERE GO TO (((competitor's name redacted))) OR DRIVE TO NEARBY ORLANDO, TAMPA,SARASOTA AND SHOP AT (((redacted))) . THERE STILL HUMAN THERE.
sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. Yes, they do require ID, I just said that in the response.
To prevent oil spills, and for other environmental reasons we do not sell oil or transmission pans. It is on the company website and signs as you come in, and they continue to follow that policy.
Few, if any self service yards, allow customer parts into their yard.
I'm glad you have found a place that suits your needs.

ace pick a part is full of devil worshipers!!! you guys are the biggest liars ever, it says right on your stupid website that you cannot enter without a valid ID CARD. you wouldnt even let me in the gate when i was there and i look well over 30.
you told me that all must present an ID card regardless of age to enter gate for liability reasons did you not? you then scanned my ID CARD to make sure it was real did you not? you then required me to tell you exactly what i was going to look for in the yard or i cant go in did you not? once you gave me a print out sheet of cars i mentioned you said i needed to have this same sheet at checkout or you wont sell to me any part i pulled did you not? you dont allow people to pull transmissions or oil pans do you not? you dont allow people to bring outside parts in and mark them like most yards do so that people can match up pulled parts to make sure its what they need do you not?
the one thats confused is you, sense most the lies you told in the rebuttal again contradicts your own policies on your website. no wonder jacksonville u-pull-it is number 1, they dont BS with you, you just pay your $2 fee to get in gate go find what you need and pay when you are done. they could care less what part you need at entry, just checkout, open tool box right fast to check it. pay for what you got and leave. thats all you got to do, but no you want a police style business and wonder why you are losing money sense 2005. even after manager ruben retired you still are not a top money maker in jacksonville's economy.
NEVER SHOP HERE AND THEY WILL GO OUT OF BUSINESS GARUANTEED!!!

Ace Pick A Part has been serving the Jacksonville community for over 23 years with fine quality used auto parts.
Ace Pick a Part does required photo ID for entry. Military ID's, driver's licenses or any official identification is always OK.
Customers are always welcome to come and take a look around. Ace Pick a Part has over 25 acres of vehicles, which gives our customers a lot of ground to cover.
To help our customers quickly find what they are looking for we ask what they need and provide them with a list of every vehicle we have that may have their part, so they can go straight to the vehicles they need.
Ace Pick a Part, like all pick a part yards does not keep an inventory of every part on each vehicle that is available, and does not have that information. They have put the majority of their vehicle listings up at their website ( www.acepickapart.com ) which can be checked 24 hours a day.
